I like this tourney. My only complaint is that Jermaine Taylor was already ko'd by Froch. Therefore I feel Allan Green should have been selected over JT.
Outside of that, I'm happy with this tourney. I've been waiting for boxing to step up to the plate and do something like this for awhile.
My god. I was waiting for confirmation of this. I don't care if there's a nuclear holocaust, or even a good ol' fashion holocaust. I don't care if Ricky Hatton chokes on a meat pie, or if Khan becomes world P4P number one. This tournament alone makes the year the most epic of all time.
Great thing about this tourny is even if a guy goes 1-2, he still leaves the tourn with a solid win on his record. because from what I can tell all of these guys are good fighters, at least four of them being elite. Ward and Dirrell have more to prove.
would be very unlikely but amazing if taylor did well, i think taylor will be respected and rightfully but some people are gonna say that he is aweful and crap. but yeah no ones perfect.
as for winner i reckon it will be kessler or abraham.
the fight im most looking foward to is dirrell vs ward, cant wait for that!
i think there should have been 10 fighters, i know it would have been really dragged out but its worth it and showtime would have got more money, if they put bika, green, bute and andrade in this, it would make it so much more epic!
allen green is squirley.
he's fought no one on the world scene.
oh yes he did, edison miranda.
he should stay at the back of the line and work his way up.he don't deserve no gift mikey!
Green isn't as squirley as Jermain Taylor..
At least Green isn't a career Middleweight in a supermiddleweight tournament.
If anybody should go to the back of the line it's Taylor.
Green brings explosive power to the scene..maybe that's a worry to folks.
oh forgot, Andre ward will win this - gold medalist, exceptional speed / defense / balance / head movement, good power, with a good assortment of punches. and he is a underrated dogg in the ring, so he will be understimated - look at him as a roy jones esq type fighter, with better fundamentals.
Andre Dirrell is my dark horse, very big for a super middle, good chin, confidence is growing, good pop in his punches, and he listens to his corner.
Carl Froch - good chin, poor defense, poor head movement, good power, good variety of punches, exceptional confidence - at this level you cannot take so many shots to the dome - look at margarito - Froch believes in himself, but when you are dealing with the elite level you have to have some form of defense period!!
Arthur Abraham - good whiskers, good power, underated balance / movement / defense - good confidence - just a slow starter - extra poundage should do him well
Kessler - exceptional all around should be him and dirrell fighting for the tournamnet at the end..
Taylor - should be a name for everyone's resume - trial horse neigh!!! will pray for him before every fight that he does not get hurt, cannot box strictly for the money, there has to be some type of love or passion or you may get hurt.... get a new trainer if you are serious, ozell cannot get you motivated - hopkins said it best "it is hard to get up and run 5miles at 5am when you sleep in silk pajammas!!! lol i crack myself up!!!
