It looks like he'll be able to fit in the mando before the tourney. I thought it was going to interfere with it. Great news. He could use a tune up having not fought in ages.

There'll be no more beating about the bush (or whatever the expession is). It's now Kessler must show what he has.
I'm confused. Only yesterday Palle was saying that he hadn't been offered enough money by Sauerland, that he still had options on three Kessler fights, that he would fight Sauerland in the courts if necessary to enforce his contract with Kessler, and that he would use the courts to prevent Kessler fighting in the meantime. Today we have this Sauerland press release which says nothing about how the problem with Palle was resolved, and which implies that Palle had no options at all on Kessler in any case. So was Palle just blowing hot air yesterday, or has Sauerland made Palle an improved offer to buy out the contract? Or is there still an unresolved legal dispute going on between Sauerland and Palle behind the scenes which Sauerland is just glossing over?Last edited by Dave Rado; 07-09-2009, 04:34 PM.

Palle has already filed suit against Sauerland so he's not likely to give in. Palle just cannot let go (of course I don't know if Sauerland are lowballing).
Whatever happens Sauerland will let Kessler fight and that's the main thing. I'm tired of reading and writing about law and not boxing. Contractstuff interests me a great deal, but I want to see the best fighters fight and it finally looks as if Kessler is ready for battle again.

And do you know why Sauerland is so confident of winning? They imply in their press release that Palle doesn't have any options on Kessler and that he's a free agent, whereas Palle says he has three options. One would have thought one of them must be lying, but I guess it must be more complicated than that - do you know why it's not cut and dried one way or the other? If it was really as straightforward as Sauerland implied in their press release, they would have no reason to offer Palle any compensation at all - so doesn't the fact that they've offered him something mean that they're pretending it's a lot more cut and dried than it really is?
