Not a fan of the Catchweight but Mayweather is the best boxer of our generation so i will give Marquez a pass on this one. Not sure why People are complaining about this fight being a mismatch but favors a fight with Floyd and Pacman instead. Would anyone say Marquez v PacMan is a mismatch? Not likely and that matchup is the One fight that worries Roach the Most. So why would Marquez by an easy fight for Floyd? Its true that Mayweather is the bigger more skilled Boxer But Marquez has one thing that Floyd lacks and thats aggresssion and Heart. Not Saying Floyd is incapable of showing aggression or Heart but since he has never had to in any previous fight we just dont know. Floyd can do pretty much everything Marquez does but Floyd will do it better and is the only Boxer in the world who can challenge Marquez in Ring IQ. But Floyd has also shown to be less than entertaining on most occassions and a big reason is that Floyd will not take chances that will put him in harms way and is less than willing to mix it up. Thats where Marquez shines. JuanManuels ability to throw caution to the wind and go on a big offensive will make this Fight with Floyd interesting. Since neither fighter is considered a fast starter or has many early round KOs Most expect the first few rounds to be feel out rounds with both fighters sizing eachother up. However i expect Marquez to start fast and see how Mayweather handles the ring rust and make adjustments on the fly. The Problem Marquez has is that No One has figured out the blueprint on how to Beat(or even bother) Mayweather. Morales laid down the blueprints on how to beat Pacquaio and Marquez Perfected it. Against Mayweather the only thing you have to go with is JoseLuisCastillos body punching in the ropes but Castillo ended up losing anyway(questionable decision and very boring). Since nobody wants to see that again and since Marquez does not fight that way its anyones guess what gameplan Marquez will use to Dethrone the True P4P King......On A side note Floyd did pick the Harder fight in choosing Marquez and anyone who thinks Manny has a chance against Mayweather is Crazy. Remember How Bad Marquez made Manny look for 19 of the 24 Rounds they have fought imagine instead Mayweather doing that. Morales showed years ago that a counter right and a good chin will beat Pacquaio and who is a better counterpuncher than Mayweather. The Reason why Roach loves Mexicans so much is because Once we get hit the game plan goes out the window and it becomes a war. With Mayweather he will not alter his fight plan and steadily whip your ass without making careless mistakes that PacMan thrives on. In saying that i still believe Marquez has a chance to make all the Mayweather v PacMan talk mean nothing and force Roach, sorry i mean Manny take a 3rd fight and quit making excuses.

I know it isn't possible but it would've been nice to see JMM in at least a tune up at 140.
a 140 tune up for JMM would have been perfect. Knowing JMM though he would have taken a tough fight like Holt at 140. If he won a fight like that it would have made this fight evenm bigger.

If Floyd truely wants the fight any higher with the little man Marquez, you know it's for 1 reason. He wants to try to pull off a Pacquiao-Hatton KO to get the people's attention and give him more bargaining power in a Pacquiao-Mayweather bout. I don't think Marquez will go down no matter how high the weight is. He's one of the last TRUE warriors we have left in boxing.

The point is that Marquez is comfortable in the 140's already. There's
a chance the extra weight might help his cause in the ring. He moved
up to 135 and KO'd two top fighters that have NEVER been knocked out
prior. Not saying he will or will not to Floyd but in no way can you
say it's going to effect him considering he has fought comfortably at
              140/1 on fight night.

The people who say Mayweather is more proven at the higher weights in my view use the **** opposition he fought there and not take into account the great fighters that Marquez has tangled with in his last few fights. Barrera was still a game opponent when he fought Marquez and obviously Pacquiao is a great fighter. Casamayor was somewhat faded but still cagey and Diaz made the fight competitive with Marquez in the early rounds and Marquez adjusted just like Floyd does against his opponents when he has gotten off to a slow start. I think the last four opponents on JMM's resume would beat Baldomir, Hatton, and Judah. Real talk.

That's fine and not a bad viewpoint but I don't know how JMM would do there because he's never been there.
What if he can't take a shot from a legit welter. I wouldn't know that.

But Mayweather is not a legit Welter. He just conned everybody into thinking he was by fighting guys like Zab Judah and Sharmba Mitchell. And it mystifies me why the Mayweather fans use Baldomir as a measuring stick for Floyd's resume at 147. This bum went on to get his ass handed to him by a one-armed Vernon Forrest who then went on to lose to Mora. And then Baldomir struggles with a journeyman on Telefentura. Yeah, he may have been the linear champ at Welterweight. But that's where it ends.

What weight division is Mayweather legit at then?

Have the fight in that division then.
