What you are forgetting is that a resume makes a fighter. You have to beat people to be considered better. Floyd has more skill than anyone, yet we do not give him credit even though he has displayed his skills in the past against the past, but he refuses to do so now, thus leading us to write his "skills" off. Kessler hasn't even displayed those skills against anyone the way Tarver has done, and succeeded.

tarver is on his last legs and is about to retire, kessler is still relatively young and is looking forward to the big smw tourney, after the tourney should he win it kessler will have the better resume.

Resume makes the fighter am I wrong? Cotto has fought the best and showed what he is made of win, lose or draw, same with Antonio Tarver. Now has kessler doen that? For all we know he could lose to Froch, Ward, Taylor, Bute and the other SMW around. Tarver cleaned out a division. Kessler I think is a good fighter, but the fact is that I think that I do not know that because he hasn't fought anybody worth a damn except for Calzaghe, which by the way is seen as his biggest accomplishment.

              Yes.

I wish the Kessler fans would get some perspective.

Basically what you are saying is that you think Kessler is better because he supposedly has a few years left in him in the sport, and you think he will be able to win the tournament. Where as Tarver has proven himself against the better fighters and won.

Well we have already seen people use that logic for a fighter named Jermaine Taylor, who was supposed to be the next P4P king and ruler of the 160-175 divisions after the I think theory was used following his disputed decisions over Hopkins. Most people thought he would be great, but the I think theory you use came crumbling down then when he lost to two crude fighters most thought he would dominate in Pavlik and Froch. The same applys to Kessler.

Tarver beats him by a wide UD...Tarver gets so underrated on this board is pathetic...Kessler only gets boosted because of Joe Cal...Kessler would have his moments but Tarver will push foward and seprate himself from Kessler.

Because I haven't watched enough fights from either of them, I'm going to use their resume. Considering Kessler's biggest win right now is Mundine, it's no where near as big as Tarver's win over Jones Jr.

However Kessler is 30 and still has a chance to add another 5 top fighters onto his resume.
