World champion boxer Carl Froch says he will defend his WBC super-middleweight belt in his home city of Nottingham.
It was thought the 31-year-old would return to America after beating Jermain Taylor in Connecticut in April.
But Froch told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It looks like it's going to be in Nottingham which is a positive thing.
"It's going to be early to mid-October so I've got plenty of time to shift a few pounds that I've put on after celebrating the last win."
However, Froch does admit that it is difficult to find financial backing from television companies in Britain at the moment.
He said: "ITV are struggling and Setanta have just pulled out of boxing so it's hard times for most sports, especially boxing. But we're positive we can get these fights shown in Britain."

I'm surprised to read this, as I thought him and Dirrell were fighting in the US as part of the tournament? Perhaps it'll happen in the UK instead.
For those who don't know, boxing on TV is Britain has taken a big hit recently. Of the 3 channels showing the sport a few months ago, one has gone out of business (Setanta) and the other (ITV) has said that they have no future boxing plans once their current contract runs out this year.
I think the fight is probably better off in America. Froch has already been in a great fight over there, and Dirrell is from there. Also Showtime are able to offer more than any UK broadcaster, so I'd expect it to come down to what they want, and they will surely want a location and start time that is best for them.
