That's been the case with Mosley, Margarito, and Clottey late in all three fights when he was buzzed he didn't go in recklessly or clumsily, he danced away until he got his strength back (save for Margarito).

It's not the most fan friendly style late in fights, but hey it gets him the win.
Pac can buzz him because he has much more mental focus than Judah and he's a fast southpaw who seems to get out of the way a little more against bigger guys.
I don't think Pac's power is a myth at all. He laid Diaz and Hatton, two pretty tough guys out, with one shot.

If Cotto has that pretty jab that he had for the first 7 rounds of Mosley, Pac is in trouble.
But if Cotto fades late, don't know if he can salt it away with Pac. Pac may beat him on workrate.

I don't think Cotto is going to walk him down all night, cuz he's gonna eat shots. If he jabs away and picks his spots, he can definitely discourage Pac into getting a little too reckless.

Bottom line, Pac can punch and hurt any of these guys or at least make Cotto shy.
Great post but IMO, he only has one "one-shot" KO. That was against Hatton. It took almost 9 rounds and an accumalation of flush shots to chop down Diaz, a LW.

and Pacquiao is known for throwing upwards of 100 punches a round.

Cotto is in for Margarito type pressure. Not a Margarito type punch endurance but Pac makes up for that with speed. Look at Calzaghe, no one could throw punches at him because he was always punching.

Pacman does not have any mythical power, he's a good fighter but he's beatable. he has many flaws as well as some great traits as well. he can be beat.

cotto has many flaws as well as well as some good traits but he hasnt had any impressive performances as of late.

pacman will probably stop cotto before the 10th

            Thanks, jr.

I actually know Diaz. He's from the Chi, like me. Good down to earth dude.

He fought a lot at junior welter, so he was a big lightweight.

I won't pretend he's as big as Cotto though.

Diaz also held his hands up all night, and blocked a lot of shots.

You guys are living on another planet. Cotto's gonna brutalize Pac. By the end of the night you'll feel sorry for him.

He also posseses fast recovery when stunned. He has proven his toughness. If Pacquiao can't hurt him, he is fucked. Pac can have some success early on with his speed alone but Cotto's style has historically neutralized speedy boxers(Judah, Quintana...both southpaws).

                  Thoughts?
Thoughts... Pacquiao will make Cotto at least respect his power. Cotto cannot walk through hard punches from Pacquiao.

Pacquiao will have good luck if he cuts Cotto up, and that's a possibility seeing as Miguel seems vulnerable to them at the moment. Whatever happens, I have Pacquiao winning this fight.

I am with you on the cuts part. That is a can happen scenario even if Cotto is winning.

That's the scary part. A hyped up fight and then a no contest or stoppage on cuts.

You can't fight through every big cut, a lot of it depends on the doctors (and vegas doctors are very good) and the ability of the corner to at least hide it enough.
