Im saying that because Im taking his countering and using defense to setup offense into consideration.
    Hopkins has better D.

    Guzman.

    Floyd.

Ugh no!!!! for 90% of JMM career he was a mostly defensive counter puncher and you can't be a counter puncher if you get hit all the time now can you. Watch the first pacman fight and watch Manny hit nothing but air from rounds 2-10.

It's like you watched a couple Mexican fighters on Telefutura and suddenly you know how JMM fights. Next time actually watch one of his fights please.

but back to the topic....Every Dominican that I have met even though some look blacker than me...swear up and down they arent black. Its almost offensive for them to acknowledge there black ancestry even tho its as obvious as night and day.

Ill give you hopkins and floyd but until a fight happens I consider them on Hiatus. Also I didnt say he was the best but one of the best. But as far as Guzman....No. He hasnt even faced a skilled offensive fighter so his defense is very suspect at best. Soto is good but he is like one of those workers that sometime shows up to work and other times just to get a check.

Oh I see you only watched the first 4 rounds of each of those fights. I guess you might want to know what happened in the later rounds. Marquez figured them out, they started missing, they became ineffective and Marquez countered them till they went to sleep. Next time watch the fight because you sound like you have never seen Marquez fight ever in your life.

but if you wanna talk about defensive fighters

Marquez>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>..guzman and raheem defensively. Matter fact defensively Marquez is one of the best in the game and he is very slick and crafty on that end. In both of those fights Marquez fought defense/counter punch style first, so that right there kills that arguement. Only thing I can think of is something like sweet peas style but no fighter fights like that now.
Marquez use to have a great defense, now, he doesn't. He was getting hit by Jandaeng and Jaca pretty easy for a great defense. Jandaeng barely landed half of what he did on Guzman when they fought and he was still undefeated.

JMM might hold a lot of other categories on Joan, but defense is not one of them.

If this is where you're going with it, this should have gone in the lounge, but I'm a give it to you uncut.

It's simple, Dominicans are proud and don't want to get confused with 'black people' (african americans) because we're not. We identify ourselves as Dominican and nothing else.

Now, if you say that we have African ancestry, a Dominican that knows his roots would say yes because we have African blood. We are Taino (the name of the founding Indian) more than anything, then Spanish, then African (that's based off a blood analyzing test).

guzman didn't become top ranked at 130 'til after marquez , barrera , morales and pacquiao all left 130.

guzman's biggest win at 130 was soto in late 2007.

pacquiao obviously left 130 in early 2008.

You're wrong, Guzman was ranked #3 before he fought Soto and he was on top of the list to fight Pacquiao instead of Barrera, but for some reason or another he didn't get it. He fought Soto as the #3 in November 07 and Pacquiao fought Marquez at 130 in March 08 so he still lasted 5 months after Guzman was still up top in the rankings.

With time at 122 together as beltholders. I'm not saying Pac ducked, but the time they spent as highly ranked fighters in the same division sur looks like it.

As an answer to.... Can anyone explain etc....

Well yes I can... In this pathetic world, there are 150+ over paid titlists who pick or choose precisely, who THEY want to fight.. It is simply not the business of the ticket payer.. Further more, the pris madonna's are paid so much money, they can't be bothered to fight more than once or twice a year.. Add this to a load of bollockless promoters, & you have the answer to your question, and everyone elses..

And most people think 'old school' fighters couldn't hack it lol
At least they allowed us to watch them.....
