its ok to have certain fighters that you cheer for...its natural...when i was a kid, it was marvin that got me following the sport...when he retired, it was mike, then roy....somewhere between mike and roy, i found a new appreciation for all styles...chavez, pernell, morales, terry norris, julian jackson and a number of other fighters


as for the philippines, the PAChuggers now might not fully qualify as 'true' fans of the sweet science, but our country, as a whole has always embraced boxing....there are many old timers that could hold their own in ANY boxing discussion...not just pinoy boxing related topics...boxing is big over there but the emergence of Pacquiao has caused a new breed of fan to emerge



as for the ppv pitch, yea man...EVERY single one i try to talk them into it so i dont have to pay for the whole thing...im a walking 24/7 dude

Tim Tomashek.. He's the guy with a pro license, who went to see Tommy Morrison Vs Herbie Hyde & Ray Mercer Vs Frank Bruno.. Due to a contractual dispute, the bill was scrapped at the last minute, & both UK fighters were withdrawn by their management.. Meanwhile, Tomashek was drinking beer in the lounge, when a panic stricken promoter (can't remember who) asked him to save the day, by coming in as a substitute to face Morrison, who was WBO champ at the time.. The purse offer was only a fraction of what had been offered to Hyde, & due to the situation, was no longer going to be for the title.. However... Tomashek decided that the show must go on, & inspite of only being a limited journeyman who was probably half pissed, got in the ring & took a pasting for 4 rounds.. Now if that aint a TRUE boxing fan, I don't know what is!

Boxing fans love the sport,supports its fighters,but are willing to debate and admit to criticism when necessary!!But it is plain to see when someone is just the fan of 1 person,or race,then try to justify their reasoning!!

A person who is willing to watch a fight when it is highly unlikely the fight will end in a KO. If you cant pass that basic requirement you are not a boxing fan in my book.
