80-20 for Pacquiao. Who F U C K this Cotto fans think Cotto is. He's not even on the same league as Pac. Pacquiao is the best boxer on the planet. Cotto is just a title holder w/c the best fighter in the world will have to fight.

-the fight is held in vegas not new york so cotto's drawing power is slightly diminished. even if its at new york, nobody is arguing who is the bigger star, its pacquiao

-Resume wise, Pacquiao blows cotto out of the water. Pac is the first ballot hall of famer not cotto.

-Last 3 fights of Pacquiao 3 wins in exciting dominating fashion>>>Cotto's loss to margarito, win vs jennings, & split decision vs clottey.

-other options for both fighters; Pacquiao can have his pick of the litter vs a hall famer in mosley, marquez, & fraud jr. & anybody else in boxing. All fighters would rather face pacquiao first than cotto. again advantage pacquiao.

Add all that up & its no injustice to ask for 65-35. Pacquiao trumps cotto in every conceivable aspect in the negotiating table in terms of drawing power, resume, status, & position in the sport as of right now.
      damn, Brah.......
let's see how the pachaters counter your arguments.
if 65-35 is what arum presented to manny....it means cotto already agreed to it!!
remember that arum first talked to cotto camp, agreed on the terms, gave it to konzc who will present it to manny.
then manny counter-propose or what have you.....

I like Pac and certainly respect him but if Cotto takes that offer I hope Cotto destroys him Really BAD.
Lettin the money go to his head a lil too much.
To be honest I cant wait to see what all the Cotto haters will say when he Cotto wins...."he was too big"...lol.."Pac was sick"
this is no disrespect to the Pac fans (I'm one too). But I think Cotto got this one.

65-35 is okay. As a matter of fact....80-20 is okay because once cotto beats pacman the future fights will be 70-30 in cotto's favor. Trust cotto just wants the fight.

Man Up Paq's Camp and get the fight done!

This is starting to feel like the Paquiao's camp is putting so many obstacles, so the fight does not get made against Cotto. So when Paq loses people should have no excuses!

Never mind knocking pacquiao out when he couldn't kO mosley/ cicciolina maglinaggi/ clottey. Beside his face looked like a red pantie on every major fights except Gomez/Jennings. 35% is fair enought for a fighter who got the WBA vacant belt by fighting a garbage **** like Quintana & Jenninigs for the WBO. He didn't beat a real ligitimate champions of the weigh, only Clottey who got lazy give away his victory to cotto.

Cotto can ask for the same when Pac request the rematch.

No surprises there, even if Cotto accepts 65-35 (which he shouldnt) Pacquio will come back with something else. It's not like Arum didnt talk to pacquiao's team first to give them a draft of the deal. They knew the purse and how it would be split but lik Pacquiao always does he will change things around.I personally think it sucks and would love to see his ass get whooped

Come on everybody lets not get excited about this news. This will not come down to Cotto or Pacman's decision. This will come down to Arum's ability to keep both fighters happy. If Pacman want's that 65/35 of the purse all Arum has to do is increase Cotto's Guaranteed amount or If Cotto want's 60/40 or more Arum will have to go back to Pacman an say instead of 12Mil guaranteed i'll give you 13 or 14 mil. Arum will try to make this happen because it benefits him also. This is going to happen because is probably the only way that Arum can keep Cotto after thsi year so arum will have to open his purse to please both fighters. By the way we have seen this from Pacmans team before, so this is just the beggining probably willing that Cotto come back and say he will only accpet 60/40.

But for all the people that say this will be his biggest payday even if he gets 65/35 that might be true but if Arum wants he can get Cotto/Mosley II with 55/45 in Cotto's favor (should be 50/50 but Mosley's career is on stand by right know and he's desperate) to unify both titles and that will bring a similar amount for Cotto than a 65/35 fight with Pacman. Arum can use the date in Vegas as Mosley wanted it to be and won't have to pay Mosley as much as Pacquiao. And by the way Arum can refuse to make Mosley/Pacman happen because he has Pacman under contract but he will lose Cotto, therfore he will need to please Cotto more to try to keep him.

You also need to look at it from the other side. If Pacman doesn't land Cotto, and Arum sets Mosely/Cotto then it will be Pacman who will be losing a big payday in 2009 because he will have to wait for Marquez/PBF outcome and then start negociating that fight. If PBF wins there will be 2 greedy guys trying to get their own and the fight might not even happen.

In a nut shell IMO both boxers will lose there biggest payday for the remaining of the year if this fight doesn't happen with the difference that Cotto has more options for a decent payday for this year than Pacquiao does.
