A good example is the Philippines. Filipinos have always been boxing fans, but the kind of frenzy PAC has brought to the country. Filipinos more than ever are hungrier to learn the sweet science.

What happens when the UFC finally meets its match and all these MMA fighters have more than one option? Then you've got a scenario that's gonna be similar to what boxing is now. There's no other MMA promotional company that rivals the UFC. It's almost like a monopoly.
In a way, MMA is running into the same problem as boxing re matching up the best of the best ,especially the lower weight classes .
Here's what I mean, Dana White has been vocal about wanting to bring the top Japanese fighters, who are mostly in the lower weights, because the Japanese fighters in some ways are like the Mexican boxers of the lower weight classes in MMA. But guess what, it's been shown to be very difficult, because the Japanese make d*mn good $$$ in their home country and have contractual obligations. So, we're not really seeing the best pitting the best when we watch the WEC.
In boxing you've got DKP, Top Rank, GBP, and the rest vying for the same spot, and I haven't even mentioned the ABC organizations.
Umm, does the Isr*eli - P*lestinian conflict ring a bell here?

I actually like THE RING BELT, because it is a nice broad number of writers who are a panel and rank current fighters. Plus there is no sanctioning fees and to be honest haven't seen much corruption from their rankings regardless of GBP owning them now..
It's sad but the WBC,IBF,WBO are here to stay.. they line their pockets with top promoters and cable co...
I'd rather have shark ass promoters and managers than these crappy alphabet organizations.
Also since the economy around the world has been tanking and HBO with Showtime, even FNF are having more competetive fights. You would think this would be the time that NBC,ABC.FOX, or CBS would jump on the chance to show some solid boxing..
I still hate Shaw for jumping on the MMA bandwagon, signing a internet fighter and getting CBS to go all in with MMA.. imagine if he had done that to put boxing on CBS.. for the amount they were paying..CBS could easily have paid for a card with either 2 or 3 matchups..

What I hope I will see in my generation is a 2 state solution.
