don't worry. tito will retire and unretire at least three more times. he will lose, cry at the post fight press conference, retire, get the itch to fight again, schedule, fight, lose, cry...etc...

        won't happen. tito's right now at 185-190 and DLH can't pass 160 w/o looking like a whale.

i'm gonna say this and i'm not saying as an excuse or just because i'm boricua or tito's fan:

I used to work with one of tito's uncle. he used to box too and fought duran a long long time ago. well one day i was talking to him and he told that tito lost that fight because, like we all remember 9/11, tito stayed in N.Y and helped people over there. that's why u see he went into the ring with that helmet. hopkins on the other side went back to phill and did some training.

tito stayed 2-3 weeks w/o working out and i guess that affected somehow.

i'm not saying that hopkins was wrong or did wrong and i'm not giving excuses for the loss. hopkins was the best man that night. he came back to p.r and apologized for the flag issue and he's a good guy and i'm a fan of his.

again...no bull**** or excuses....just one detail.

I am just making a well informed observation. This is what he has done in the past and will do so in the future. Trinidad has very little heart. I love Cotto and his work ethic. His no excuse, no nonsense view of his job is admirable.

Tito owned vargas in that fight. I never even mentioned vargas but now that you did, he is what I call a "never should have been" rather than a "has been". Yes he knocked down Tito once but Tito really owned that whole fight. Ortiz has the "no mas" syndrome. That cat will never be able to live that down. Tito came out of retirement and when he fought winky, he ate right jabs the whole night and cried at the press conference. Thats classic.

The man went out on his shield, he was just not good enough to beat one of if not thee best fighter possibly of this era. Tito was a warrior and deserves credit.

although i think that hopkins on welter would whoop him anyway. awful matchup for tito
