Showtime to have a Super-Middle Tourney?

"that will be announced maybe next week at the MSG. It will involve 6 of the top 168-pounders in the world, guys like Kessler for instance."

"I did an interview with their boxing guy a few months back and he mentioned this concept. From what I'm told, this will make up the bulk of the rest of their schedule for 09 and beyond. It will be a round robin in the beginning, ending with a final four-type scenario is what I'm told"

Sounds good. Forget Kessler though that guy has been in a cave or something.

I wouldn't "forget Kessler". He is without a doubt the best 168 pounder in the world right now IMO. He just needs to get the fights and I think he can beat everyone out there. I would love for him to go to the States and show how good he is. Hope this proposal comes off.

Without a doubt? He hasn't fought anybody in ages, and could be done for all we know.

              Great news.

Why 6 boxers though? How does a 6 man tournament work?

I'm thinking it would involve Bute, Andrade, Froch, Ward, Green. Those guys have all fought on Showtime recently.

LOL, yeah, without a doubt IMO. Could be done? How? He has never suffered a beatdown. He lost a competitive decision to the best SMW of all time and since then has been belting the piss out of tomato cans.

Put it this way, I see no 168 pounder in the world right now I would pick to beat, or even get very close to beating, a fit and focused Mikkel Kessler.
