I guess if you put it in that perspective, then Pacquiao has a good chance at beating Cotto. Cotto's still a force to be reckoned with, but Pacquiao is increasing with every fight.

Did they finally sign the papers? Or are they still in negotiations? 145lbs is the weight?

Ayo, Larryx wussup with Mayweather? What's the status on his rib?

People have been saying this about Pacquiao for a while now and he keeps proving them wrong. Before Hatton there were those, including me, saying that Manny's last two fights prove nothing about how he will fare above 130, and that he won't be able to walk through Ricky. Now I admit that Cotto is a better boxer than Ricky, but he is not unbeatable and Pacquiao has more than enough to beat Cotto either on points or TKO.

This all stems out of Cotto's split decision over Clottey.

Pacman fans should not discount him because there would be a height and reach advantage at ww with some fighters (Margarito, etc.). Mike Tyson was a short heavyweight, but somehow that didn't mean ****. He hit with a lot of power. Everybody knew it, and everybody tried to avoid it. If Pacman hits as hard, comparatively, with his gifts, he should be able to fight anybody at 147- period. The truth is he does not have that type of power, which is why any fight at 147 for Pac would be extremely competitive with the top welters. Pac's power and speed breaks people down for the most part. Other than Hatton's imitation of Roy Jones, Pacman has not had any fights that were at least competitve on paper where he knocks somebody out totally in the early rounds with one punch. So, we should discard the notion that Pacquiao is somehow going to "catch" Cotto, and end the night early. Cotto has too much skill, grit, and boxing knowhow to be a Hatton-like victim. Also, Cotto has power- plenty of it- can box, has good hand speed, good defense. This fight is not going to be easy for Pacquiao, at all. Clottely himself when asked why he didn't fight more during the late rounds mentioned that "he had to be careful." Careful about what? If Cotto is such a bum, who is totally tired, no defense, no power, and has a huge cut on his eye...why be careful??? Could it be the he didn't want to get "caught". And by the way, this was coming from a "no doubt about it" top WW who has actually fought other top ww. The only huge Pacman fan that I have heard get it right so far is his trainer, Freddy Roach. He has been quoted as saying that this will be a tough fight, Manny's biggest challege. Hopefully Manny does not share the sentiment as some of his diehard fans. Cotto has proven that even when he is outclassed, has less physical talent, or is facing serious diversity he keeps bringing it, and usually wins at the end. Manny has always been the better talent against all of his opponents, win or lose. This time around he gets to fight a true warrior, who is going to be heavier and is physically strong and equally skilled. I hope he brings his A game and his A strategy- he's going to need it. If he does, and if Cotto does, it's going to be a great fight.

That's very true, but when is the last time anyone has ever been knocked down by a jab bad balance or not? You not only need good timing, but also some solid power in a jab to be able to knock anyone down with it.

Diaz, DLH and the Hatton fight does not prove anything.

                  if PAC overcomes Cotto

DLH, Hatton and Cotto fights does not prove anything.
