    Where is DLH's pride ?

Where is DLH's pride ? im sorry to keep repeating myself but how can he go out like that, where is the mans pride?

DLH must have thick skin or he just does not have much pride in himself because fans are hating on him left right and centre for his limp display against Pacquiao, i would of thought his pride would of been damaged enough to not want to go out like that.

Aren't your hurting Oscar? for once in a long time you have an opportunity not to fight for the money but to redeem your reputation and gain back your respect.

When that fan said Marquez is not gonna quit like DLH does that not make you think about how much respect you have lost because of that Pacquiao fight ?

Come back one last time bro, even if its against a soft opponent.

Well, you said it yourself at the end there, the only way DLH is assured of going out with a win is to fight a soft opponent. Sure, he may still be good enough to put on a good fight against a solid 154-lber, but no way he would want to risk losing another fight, and if he fought a softie, he'd get ripped up and down for exploiting his fans, HBO, et al.

Frankly, he was/is in a no-win situation with what happened in the Pacquiao fight, so he called it a career.

It's funny how you say he has no pride because he is intelligent to understand he doesn't have it anymore.

Yet when a fighter stays too long you are the type to quickly condemn him for ruining his legacy....

Oscar's greatest attribute in the ring wasn't his speed, strength or technique it was his intelligence.

He was IMO one of the smartest fighters ever to step into a ring and this is no different. He understands he doesn't have it anymore and has nothing to prove. He will go down as a great fighter and nothing can take that away from him.

I see where you are coming from and agree with it. It all started with wanting to fight Pac in the first place. Where was the pride in fighting a guy that much smaller than you. Sure he was P4P but come on DLH.

Oscar will have to deal with that image of himself quitin on his stool like that. I'm not saying that is a bad thing, he was beaten and had nothing left.

He should have retired after the Forbes fight. I thought at the time he may have retired after the Mayorga fight. But I guess there was Money to be made.

Me personally think he will comeback because of that fan that told him that. There are certain things that get a mans "fire" going and humiliation like that is oneo f them. After that moment I bet he went home and talked to his wife and asked what do you think If i unretire. I will put the house on that!!!!Especially if Cotto beats Pac.....Get ready for the Cottos biggest Pay day!!!!!!!!

He was an excellent fight and very exciting to watch imo.

The reason i say soft is because he might have the impression that he could not compete in the same ring as a top fighter again, but that does not mean to say he is not capable, it could mean his confidence is very low because of the Pac fight.

If he were to have a good outing he might rediscover like Mosley did in the Marg fight, that he has more left than his previous performance suggested.

People forget that were threads on here before the Marg fight saying " Does anyone else fear for Shane's life" that is how much chance people were giving him. There were folk saying Hopkins was not only going to lose to Pavlik but that he would get KFTO.

Seriously, it's only the young kids that get on Oscar's nuts like lil monkeys lol. The guy is done and he made the right call to call it quits. I mean his last fight at 154 he still struggled with Forbes, even though he picked that guy apart. He couldn't finish him off after the few times he stung him. lol You lil kids just didn't grow up with him fightin Mosley, Quartey, Trinidad etc etc...

A prime Oscar, along with Mosley, Forrest, Quartey, Trinidad, would have fighters like Berto and Cotto forced to linger around 140 for their careers. Those guys wouldn't even pop their heads up at 147 with fighters like that around. You lame asses, just arent up on your game enough to know that.

Im not that type at all, if a fighter goes into to long and its CLEAR that he should retire for sake of his health Bowe/Holyfield, then im all for that, but leaving the scene when you dont categorically know what you may or may not have left........

You are treating me like a DLH hater when im not, its because i like DLH that i dont want him to bow out like that, also i believe the weight did not give us a true reflection of what he has left.

Older fighters suffer from inconsistency when they get older, but they are still capable of pulling out a few great performances out regardless.

If Nelson had retired after getting thoroughly outboxed by Leija 2x where would he be ? he would not of gone on to beat Ruelas the guy who beat Leija, then fight and win the 3rd fight with Leija would he ?

Where would Holy be if he had retired after his poor performances against Moorer 1,Bowe 3 ? he would never of even fought Tyson.
