I think Ruiz knocks Arreola bad.

It's quite possible Ruiz with his savvy wins a ud on skill and being very cagey.

Ruiz has fought punchers before and only bit it against one of them.
One thing that can't be disputed is that Ruiz is a lot more proven going 12 rounds than Arreola is. If he is still around in the late rounds, Arreola gets severely tested.

I have not seen Ruiz fight in years. I don't know what he brings to the table now but I think if Arreola is aggressive, he should win. Arreola is too small (as big as he is, lol) to match up punch for punch with heavy handed heavies I think. If Arreola boxes and lands flush punches while avoiding being hit himself, he can win most any fight because he packs a punch but I think they have to be clean punches to rock some of the top guys. He can win on accumulation but not really one punch ko power against truly bigger guys.

Well he hasn't been knocked out since he changed his style. The style change probably helped him. The sort of tactics he uses destroys his opponents' rhythm. I notice in his earlier days, he lost a couple and had a close decision win over Jimmy Thunder. I've no idea if he was robbed in the Valuev fights or not as I haven't seen them, but I'd say he still has a few miles on the clock left.

I think he actually tried to change his style back to what it once was if I'm not mistaken [in an attempt to win some fans probably], and paid the price for it. I think he could probably give a fighter like Arreola some trouble, as Arreola is just a big strong guy who will come after Ruiz and get frustrated with Ruiz's nonsense.

He's lost three out of his past five and still gets to be the WBA mandatory, without being in an eliminator!

Ruiz is better now than he was before, he beats Arreola by UD or Late stoppage. Arreola is the most overrated fighter in the boxing game today.
Those who thinks he will finish Ruiz think Arreola can do what Tua did and what Chagaev, Holyfield, Rahman, Toney, Golota and Valuev couldn't do.

Arreola would win, but Ruiz would make it an ugly fight.

Chris might want to get in shape for this one. It's been a while since I've seen Ruiz but he's never been a pushover. Don't know if he's slowed a bit but i can see him giving Arreola lots of problems if he comes in with the spare tire.

I'd pick a Ruiz decision upset.
