Between Miguel Cotto and Juan Manuel Marquez , who has a better set of skills?

They both have great attributes and can overcome adversity.

BUT I feel Marquez is a more well rounded fighter. Cotto is more devestating than Marquez though.

Cotto shows flashes in every fight of being an elite Marquez always shows up as an elite.

Marquez is more skilled but cotto is the tougher fight for pacquiao. Cotto is a lot stronger and can hurt pacquiao, marquez cant really hurt him he can stun him and catch him but not hurt.

Plus, I believe if pacman fought marquez right now he would win much more decisively than in the past.

I agree with this. Marquez has a better skill-set overall. Cotto is better when moving forward and attacking his opponents than is Marquez, but JMM is better skilled otherwise. Cotto has better strength, a better left hand, more power and his jab has become very good.

Cotto is younger. But I think Marquez defense is underrated. Usually he adjusts well after the first few rounds of a fight and takes away certain things. And his combination punching is unmatched in my opinion.

I'd say Marquez is the smarter and better skilled fighter in my opinion.

Marquez HAD good defense but hes been past his prime. His defense isnt there as much as it was before the Diaz fight showed that. But at the same time Marquez never fought a fighter as busy and relentless as Diaz i believe Marquez threw a record amount of punches in that fight
