Ok then, in this weekend's fight, the referee instructed the doctor to stop the fight and the fight was stopped by...... The Doctor stopped the fight, end of that discussion. Result was a TKO. And don't say Cotto didn't agree with his corner stopping the fight, he had already willingly taken a knee, two times to avoid getting hit, Tony was all over him and his corner knew he wanted a way out of the fight. Cotto's nod was a nod of concurrence with his corners decision, he had had enough of Tony Margarito.

Same here, Vargas would have fought to the death in that fight, but I think he paid the price for it. I'm sure Ortiz is aware of the comparisons made between him and Fernando and that may have been a factor in his decision to not want to continue the war he was in this weekend.

I think some here don't realize how fine the line is between a fighter coming out of a ring with it all still intact and coming out ruined. It's impossible to guage that point in a war, it's always one too many shots away, and Ortiz was taking a battering.
