In regards to showtime they do put up decent fights but the venues are boring and the punch by punch commentators are so pathetic they put you to sleep. I have to put them on mute to be able to watch a fight.

The reason HBO puts them on PPV is because the fighters deserve a bigger pay day. Take Corrales Castillo for example. That should have been a PPV fight because those were wars and those two litterally put their lives on the line and they end up getting short changed.

HBO is just in it for the money no doubt but really which one of us would say oh no I dont want an extra 5 milion lets just front the bill and make minimal money out of this fight.

    Come on fellas think
I can somewhat understand if COTTO leaves TOP RANK, because BOB ARUM right or wrong supported his fighter, but probably could have did it differently. Now for Oscar and Mayweather, both guys just wanted to cut the middleman and think of themselves as big names..As much as I hate to say it, its a good business move for both fighters. Love him or hate him, I think that Bob Arum is doing a great job of promoting, thats the reason he still is promoting..unlike Don King who was big in the 80s, but then disappeared.

another thing..I AGREE that CASTILLO/CORRALES was a war and should have been PPV, but do we know how much tickets it sold in the arena. Maybe it didn't sell as well as we think it did, thats why it wasn't on PPV. I don't know but anyone knows how much tickets was sold in the arena, then we will know why it was or wasn't on PPV.

If arum keeps throwing these cheap ass latin fury ppv,for sure golden boy is going to replace him! At least the Ortiz vs Maidana was action packed not like the boring ass latin fury card!

GBP does the better and bigger fights. To be in the game for 5 years, and be rivals with a company that has been doing it for thousands of years just tells you the whole story.
When was the last time Golden Boy did a big fight with two Golden Boy fighters? Even their Lightweight Lightning had a Top Rank fighter in the main event. Sure Miguel Cotto expressed interest in hearing them out. The same way a Yankee player expresses interest in speaking with the Red Sox. Then the Yankees triple the guy's salary to keep him from going to Boston and he returns to New York. It's a free agent tactic to get more cash and have two sides bidding up the pay.

(That kinda **** don't fly in Philly, or at Grateford Penitentiary). These kids usually aren't ready at 22 for a night as big as last Saturday. No wonder Ortiz broke down mentally...but at least he didn't start crying during the post-fight like Juan Diaz did in his first really tough outing.

all i know is, this whole quitter thing is being taken way to seriously..... its not like hes a basketball player who got dunked on, or crossed over and decided to quit. hes a fighter, taking a beating, and having his will sapped...... on top of that, he has never been taught how to handle something like that... give the kid a break ****!
