Maybe, but it's not like he wasn't almost 37 himself. And it's not like Roy didn't showboat against just about everyone he ever fought, including a 40 year old Mike McCallum. Karma is a btch.

Calzaghe was coming off the biggest wins of his career and Jones was done 5 years ago. It was embarrassing Joe even took the fight, let's be honest about that.

Also, I was never a huge fan of Jones myself for similar reasons, but the guy was a legend. You don't showboat like Joe was against an old SHOT version of that legend. You showboat when your fighting other guys in their primes.

Further, this is just me and holds no weight whatsoever, but to me Calzaghe's showboating was gay, lol. Jones had swagger when he shotboated (still inappropriate though).

As a fan of Floyd, i can't criticize because Floyd went through the same thing that Calzaghe went through. Calzaghe, like Floyd, use to knock guys out from left to right before he badly fractured his hand. Floyd's KO ratio has decreased badly, the Hatton KO was after tagging him with everything but the kitchen sink.

If Calzaghe would have had his hand, half as healthy as he use to, Jones , Lacy, and even Kessler would have most likely lost by late stoppage or TKO in the latter rounds like 10-12th. Hopkins would have been the only one to go the distance and a prime Roy too.

But the problem is, Prime Calzaghe didn't have half the work rate that he had after he broke his hand. After he broke his hand he had to adjust to another style to win decisions, and that was of course with his superior stamina, he adjusted to winning on work rate. Floyd has the stamina but he is so defensive that he adjusted to winning fights on accuracy via decisions.
