    Did he or didn't he???

Like many of you Im SHOCKED Vic Ortiz took that ass kicking like he did...no he is not a bum now just cuz he lost...and no he is not washed up....he had a bad fight...one that cost him his "0" but that's not what worries me at this point...everyone loses their "0" at some point...(unless your RM) what worries me is how the fight ended and what he said after the fight.....check the vid...

What say you?? did he quit? did he show no heart? or was he smart? what do you think he meant by "I don't deserve to be... you know... beat up like this"???

I hope Vic can come back stronger but the end of the fight and his comments really got me thinking....

He looked like he quit to me,when he took that knee and got up and turned his back and walked away,he just quit!!I was shocked, but we got a new prospect to watch,Maidana lost in Germany on a hometown decision,so he is basically undefeated!!!

Yes he quit. Though I think he showed plenty of heart before that. He was hurt long before he quit. In round three Max even said, "you definitely cannot question Ortiz's heart." Just the way he motioned to the ref like that was not good. But before that he was fighting back everytime he got staggered.

Well, the guy's young. To be honest I think that he was just really embarassed about the whole situation and he was trying to say something to save face. At the end of the day, the last time he was in the corner, his trainer was begging him to respond or else he'd stop the fight, and Vic was just ignoring it - in my opinion, he wanted the fight to stop right there. It's very obvious that he knew he'd not be able to win. When he said "i don't get put on my back for nobody"(sic) then, to me, that signified that he knew full well he just wanted to call it a night. I think to say he's a bum is ******, to say that he's going nowhere is likewise ******. But he's just not got the heart, or the balls, in my opinion. He's a talented guy who's lacking in the areas that you just can't teach. MAB was cut at least as badly vs Amir. He didn't quit. Victor will find that his most recent and only loss cost him quite a bit more than his "O". Silly boy. Let's hope he learns.

yeah he quit but it wasn't as bad as people are making it out to be. He was on the verge of getting KTFO. Look at the beating he took at the end of the previous round. His corner was telling him they were going to stop the fight in between rounds, but he continued. He clearly had nothing left as soon as he was hit in the round he was wobbling and falling, then goes down. He was DONE.

His comments at after the fight is what you don't want to hear from a fighter. But he's 22 years old and had never been in that situation before and probably didn't realize what the "right" things to say were.
