I think your post was precisley accurate. The thing we all seem to be negelcting (or chose to ignore for whatever reason) is how Gamboa has been knocked down cleanly by journey men fighters that are lesser skilled then Juanma. To add, his corner has yet to correct this flaw through each of his fights, and one can debate it has gotten worse in each of his fights. We can all anticipate a great match up for now but if a Gamboa meets a determined journey men with the patience to exact that flaw it'll be lights out for Gamboa and lights out on Juanma/Gamboa super fight.

    Peace.

So does this mean he is going to have Lopez fighting overmatched opponents until then? I hope not. I heard that Arum down talked a Caballero fight to have Lopez fight Vasquez. And there's nothing wrong with that to me. But I am not paying for any of Lopez's fights if all Arum is going to match him up with is Lontiachis of the world.

I think its gonna be one hell of a fire fight. Juanmas chin is too solid for Gamboa and he might get Koed

Why do top rank fighters fight cupcakes 90% of the time and the other 10% that are decent have to be under the top rank label. Juanmma and Gamboa are great fighters, but Juanma needs to be fighting Caballero, Vasquez, and Marquez. Gamboa should be fighting Chris John or Rocky Juarez. Instead Top Rank will have them fighting bums of the month until they fight each other, it's BS. Fans lose, Fighter's lose, the only winner is Bob Arum. That's why I refuse to buy a top rank PPV.

I could honestly see Linares lighting both of these guys up.
It would be a good fight, though, if both guys can keep winning. Id like to see Juanma fight Caballero before moving up to 126, it would give him a lot more credibility. I like watching Gamboa fight, but I am not sold on him as a world class fighter, his style is built to strongly on athleticism and not boxing ability.
Either way, hope they make this down the line.
