That's why I think GBP felt they had to make this move in matching Ortiz with a "belt holder" because Khan made alot of noise and got back on the right track by beating a big name opponent. It blew up in GBP's face big time.

They might not be able to put Vicky back together after this. De La Joto will be forced out of retirement to save his failing Boxing Promotions form bankruptcy, hehe.
He looked better than ever because he didn't get touched. Khan still has to answer questions about his chin. His defense may be getting better, but I won't be sold until he walks through some punishment. Ortiz had to answer that question for me too until I was going to believe the hype, and we saw what happened. Apparently those whispers about his durability were true.

Obviously, Khan and Ortiz were suppose to be on this collision course, whether it's fighting the better opponents, or whatever it is, both fighters were trying to one up each other. Khan passed his test against MAB, and Vicky failed miserably, hehe.

dont lose sight of the fact that Ortiz was originally supposed to fight Kotelnik, until Kotelnik dumped him for the Khan fight. It was only after the WBA agreed to sell them an "interim" title that they made the fight with Maidana.....

he looked durable enough to me.

        he just quit.

his chin held up fine. he took about 50-60 hard shots.

D*mn, I forgot about that. Good point.

But, again, obviously Kotelnik chose Khan because Khan is $$$$ over in the UK. He's already a bigger star in the UK compared to Ortiz in the US prior to the Maidana nightmare.

When I say durability I just mean ability to withstand a lot of punishment, whether it be mental or not.

I thought he was hurt a few times before the stoppage too though not counting the knockdown.

              maidana can ****.

he would hurt a lot of 140 guys.

              ortiz fought dumb as dirt.......

maybe his 1st title shot plus being a headliner on hbo plus being at staples center got to his head.

              he should have boxed more.

guys like maidana don't have a chance unless you **** with them.

He also look durable to me, He just couldnt dig deeper enough to believe he can win after getting tag with the right hand, He thought he might get KO worse so he said thats it...

Ortiz fought a Maidana fight, He was too green to stuck to his own gameplan..He follow the Maidana gameplan and got drowned, He realise it and thought its better i give up to try another day.

I think he was hurt in the first round when he got KD, He got up too quick and didnt give himself time to recover his legs and composure and because of that he was still dazed the whole fight.

Uh, no ****. That's the whole point. It shows that he learned his lesson from the Prescott debacle. That's the whole reason Khan f**kin' travels half way across the world just to train with Roach and spar with PAC. So he'll do a better job of not getting hit.

Dude, give Khan the credit, he made a mistake, corrected it, and beat a great veteran in MAB. Yes MAB is past it, he's over the hill, but he's still alot better than that wild swingin' Maidana!
