True, but Korobov seems the better boxer.

Not seen many of Jacobs fights ( If you know of one or two ones that higlight his skills, tell me? ), but Korobov has much better handspeed than someone people credit him for, accurate punches and he's got quite a bit of power too.

I'll admit, his last fight had me worried.

Wasn't looking comfortable at all in there and I think he might had even had some swelling.

Perhaps I'm calling this too early?

I didnt care for Danny's temperament in the Walker fight either. he looks excellent when hes not threatened, but when Jacob is pressured, he doesnt seem to sit on his punches at all.
you cant simply run from your opponent all night. good pressure fighters know how to deal with that. you need to threaten them with real firepower and clean counters.

I'd take a look at his last fight against Walton and his fight against Varela, the Walker fight was OK but he didn't look as good in that one, he took that fight 8 days after he fought Varela.

Jacobs' handspeed is comparable to Korobov's quite possibly even faster, his accuracy is pretty good too, throws some really nice combinations, has a nasty habit of pulling straight back even though he didn't do it much in his last fight.

I don't think you're calling it too early but I don't think he'll be at the top as quickly as Top Rank were saying based on his last fight. I think he'll still go a long way it'll just take a little more time. Top Rank is probably the best promotional company out there for building up young prospects.

Interesting little fact if you didn't know it already. Korobov beat Jacobs in the amateurs.

I think that had something to do with him taking the Walker fight on 8 days notice after fighting Varela the previous week.

He seemed to do better with Walton's pressure. Dealt well with the cut too.

Seems like Korobov did a DeGale.

in 1998 Korobov's family moved to Florida and Korobov, a young teen, stayed behind in Russia for 10 more years by himself so he could develop and continue his amateur career. By all accounts he eats, sleeps, and breathes boxing and has a freakish work ethic. That's what makes him even more scary.

Oh, and not that any of you will probably care but his mother is Ukrainian and so is his Fiancee! i love him even more since finding that out.

                      That's a crazy work ethnic.

I hope he doesn't lose it and maintains it throughout his career.
