Ortiz will never be anything more than a pinata at 140 or 147.

He's easier to hit that the side of a barn.

The guy he lost to was complete trash.

My only problem is this is the sort of thing Zab Judah would do imo. He had all the talent in the world, but sometimes his heart didn't get him across the line.

But Zab did show some heart in some fights, I think his heart & Chin stopped him from being great.

I remembered when Zab came onto the scene he was dynamic just like Ortiz did.

140 is loaded with guys better than Maidana.

Ortiz is there to be had by anybody.

I think Maidana is tough and all but in no way is he in the same league as Quartay, Wright, Campas,Ruelas, etc.

Ortiz can bounce back one he decides to re-focus.. I have a feeling the BRIGHT LIGHTS got to him, once he knew he was the main attraction and Golden Boy's hottest Prospect.. Vargas thrived in the spotlight
i thought i just explianed it. i said nothing about being from oxnard for the simple fact ortiz is from kansas. i was compairing the two because each were rushed into title fights at such young ages, diffrence is vargas won, but could'nt take the long haul and retired at 29/30. and like i said i'm hopeing ortiz does'nt follow the same path.

Zab was a 5 round fighter. THat was pretty much his problem.

                Can't you tell?

His new trainer better be Jesus because he needs a miracle.

I've seen better fighters on Jerry Springer.

not to be rude, but how long have you followed the sweet science? you don't seem to have very much knowledge on the subject. it's more then obvious ortiz has the skill/gift to fight and become a champion. so what gives? ignorance?

I think Victor Ortiz would be better off retiring and spending whatever money he has left on a college education. He appears to be very bright and well spoken.
