the fight last night reminded me of Cotto-Torres, but maybe its just me.

I agree It was remiscent of Cotto torres. BUT Cotto overcame the devestating puncher.

Torres polished? Man him and his brother, you picture those dudes at a bar then getting the call to fight and going without hitting the gym.

They pretty much rely on their power for anything.

I don't think Torres is much different from Maidana at all in terms of skill.

Cotto weathered that storm and won it's true coming back from being rocked big time.

maidana and torres' skill level were not a factor in the fights.

cotto just kept getting caught because his chin is iffy at 140 with all the weight he cuts.

of course cotto is the more experienced and more proven fighter so it makes sense to go with him in a fight with ortiz.

but the way i see their skills , size , power......i think ortiz can beat cotto in the future if he gets his head on straight.

Maybe I can show Holt-Torres as a counterpoint to this fight.

Maidana also fought better against Kotelnik and showed more skill than against Ortiz because it was a brawl against Victor.

it's a shame ricardo didn't make more of a mark in the sport.
