Cotto will never be the recognized champ at 147 until he rematches Mosley, period. I know Mosley is partly to blame for it not happening by chasing Pacquiao, but I've never heard Cotto say that he was willing to rematch Shane Mosley in Vegas, despite the fact that Mosley claimed that a Cotto rematch was a step backward. And Cotto is the one who is fighting Pacquiao, not Mosley. In fact, Mosley said he would rematch Cotto as long as the fight is in Vegas. Cotto needs to step up to the plate. Mosley may not have the linear title, but he's got Cotto's old belt around his waist, and he earned it the honest way.
mosley is not better than cotto..cotto beat mosley

Why does Mosley need to have the fight in Vegas? Personally, it can be anywhere the hell they want it but Mosley is asking for a rematch against a man he lost to, then he wants to make the rules about where the fight is to be held? He is the one who agreed on where the first match was supposed to take place, and now people ***** that if it wasn't in New York it would have been the other way around? Seriously, where do you people come from? Then to add to it, you say Cotto is backing out of the fight or avoiding Mosley, are you serious? He won the fight by UD, by 2 points or so on each scorecard, it was a close fight but Mosley didn't win. Cotto beat the guy once and now he gets trashed because he has to do it again and instead he wants to move on with his career?Cotto will never be the recognized champ at 147 until he rematches Mosley, period. Lets think about this, Cotto beats Mosley and moves on to Margarito. Cotto loses and takes some time off. Mosley barely beats a complete bum (Mayorga) and looks like garbage in the process and gets a fight against Marg. They catch Marg cheating, which as stated definitely had an affect on his mental state. He kills Margarito and decides to go after a Paq fight. During this time Cotto beats Jennings, never hears a word about a rematch from Mosley, as Mosley is going for a Paq fight. Cotto sets up a real challenge against Clottey, regarded as the best active WW in the division aside from Mosley, himself(Cotto) and Marg(suspended.) Mosley during the same time passes fights on Berto and Clottey (before the Cotto fight was signed.) After the fight Cotto gets a huge offer (I'm sure in the 10's of millions) from Paq and again didn't hear a word of a rematch from Mosley.
Where exactly is Cotto ducking Mosley? Mosley completed passed on the chance at a rematch with Cotto and went for Paq. So Cotto, keep in mind not having heard a word from Mosley about a rematch, and a rematch in which the loser of the first fight wants to make all the rules, takes on the next best in his division which is something Mosley opted not to do. I also forgot to mention that Mosley went after Floyd who turned him down and for the same reason, Mosley isn't the draw that these other people are. So please, next time you say Cotto is ducking someone make sure 1. You know what you are talking about, Cotto has never ducked a single person, whoever is put in front of him he'll fight 2. In order to duck someone I thought you were have never supposed to fought in the first place 3. Make sure the first fight was SO close that Mosley should have put far more effort into getting it before a bigger offer was given to the man he wanted the rematch with.Last edited by Beater_of_ass; 06-29-2009, 10:50 PM.Comment

Jesus, I don't have time to read a f#cking novel. I never said Cotto is particularly ducking Mosley. He's just not going out of his way to get a fight with him and vice versa. If you read my post I said implied that I was holding both guys to the same standard by not fighting each other, even though I was harsher toward Cotto. Mosley is the future hall of famer. It's Cotto who for once in his career needs to become the man of a weight division. He let a fight with Paul Williams fall through his finger tips. Is he gonna let this one fall through too?Why does Mosley need to have the fight in Vegas? cotto needs to fight mosley in a rematch on neutral ground (ie. Vegas).
if cotto wins another close fight in MSG it won't mean anything.Comment
