lol, I am Chicano and proud of that fact and yes I will be rooting for Arreola. I didnt say anything insulting towards Chicanos or anyone else, just stating the fact that Mexican never completely accept Chicano boxers as if they were Mexican born. I was watching sports highlights on some Mexican station earlier and they didnt even mention Ortiz- only Arce.

Sorry bro but I was not talking about you, I was talking to KILLA RIGHT. Unless you are KILLA RIGHT's ALT and you forgot that you are using two names? I was talking to the thread starter. Are you an alt?

Most Mexican fans wouldnt have accepted him even if he had become the next big thing. Saul Alvarez is the popular young prospect there. So yeah, maybe he disappointed a lot of Chicano fans like myself but it doesnt affect Mexican boxing as a whole.
Not many people in Mexico know Ortiz, and the popular young Prospect is El Canelo Alvarez you are right.

But I think they would have accepted Ortiz in Mexico, you know with GBP showing his fight in Televisa and all that stuff.

You should have seen how the media reacted when Mexican-American Mark Sanchez was drafted by the Jets, all the media in Mexico is on his nuts.

The only thing that will be bouncing is Ortiz' head off the canvas.
