lol, I am Chicano and proud of that fact and yes I will be rooting for Arreola. I didnt say anything insulting towards Chicanos or anyone else, just stating the fact that Mexican never completely accept Chicano boxers as if they were Mexican born. I was watching sports highlights on some Mexican station earlier and they didnt even mention Ortiz- only Arce.
Victor never cared for us mexicans

Why wear mexican trunks? When someone asked him about being the next mexican star. He said he didn't care but about himself.if people liked him cool but if they didn't no hard feelings(during the espn chat this fri).he ****en quit.if he got ko'd in the 1st rd no problem i will root for you till death.but you ****en quit.people wanna say chavez quit?he gave us mexican hope and showed us just we were hard working balls all out fighters. At the end he just couldn't go and saved his ass for his kids.victor isn't a ****en fighter i still think he will be a champ.but mexican fans shouldn't support him. His skills will make him a champ but not all time great. But a ****en quitter.thx victor for being a ****en hype job u chicano.dont ever wear the mexican trunks your dad was right
Mexico never did **** for him(or you).
He didn't get educated there.he wasn't born there..mexico's health care system didn't bring him into this world.

Not many people in Mexico know Ortiz, and the popular young Prospect is El Canelo Alvarez you are right.Youre taking things a little too seriously there. He's a prospect who lost.. happens all the time. And about him bringing shame to all the Mexican people- the reality is that he was more popular in the US with non-chicano boxing fans than in Mexico. Most Mexican fans wouldnt have accepted him even if he had become the next big thing. Saul Alvarez is the popular young prospect there. So yeah, maybe he disappointed a lot of Chicano fans like myself but it doesnt affect Mexican boxing as a whole.
But I think they would have accepted Ortiz in Mexico, you know with GBP showing his fight in Televisa and all that stuff.
You should have seen how the media reacted when Mexican-American Mark Sanchez was drafted by the Jets, all the media in Mexico is on his nuts.Comment
