I hope Ortiz doesn't give up!

First off.. that was one hell of a fight! Props to Maidina, he took Ortiz out in a hometown crowed.

After the fight though Ortiz seemed a little unsure of whether he wanted to continue his career. I hope he does. Sure he's suffered a humiliating setback but it's not the end. He shouldn't give up. There are many fighters who have suffered embarrassing early losses in their careers and gone on to be great champions such as Manny Pacquiao.

Maidina was too much too soon for Ortiz though. That was some sorry ass management by GBP imo.. it was on some Main Events type ****. They keep doing this and they gonna have their fighters end up like Vargas. Maidina is an experienced fighter who if it wasn't for a controversial close fight, could have been undefeated. Ortiz is green and only 22.. what was going through their minds?

Also, what was going through Ortiz's mind? He had Maidina hurt. If he would have paced himself instead of trying to go for the kill. He got too carried away trying to please the hometown crowed and as a result got KO'd.

I'm a still back the boy, I hope he comes back stronger then ever. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes, picks up some experience and gets back on the road to being a world champion.

I hope he does. He's a disgrace to Boxing. I mean what would Chico Corrales say if he was alive?

that's Manny Pacquiao pretty much quitting refusing to get up.. he only got up after he knew the ref was gonna count him out.

who would have thought back then Pac would be what he is now?

as I've stated before.. Ortiz can still be a champion, it depends on him though and how bad he wants it.

Manny P was a teenager when he got his first lose bro. Vic is now an adult, and for him to say that he's not sure whether he can the type of punishment taken tonight.. really puts a question mark over his head. Wtf are you doing in this sport then? Does Vic has the passion to do this sport? That's what a lot of people are questioning him over..

Pac is overrated too. Cotto is going to tap that ass.

Manny Pacquiao was 21 when he refused to get up against Singsurat.

If Pacquiao loses to Cotto it does not mean he is over rated, it simply means he lost to a good fighter.

If Ortiz does continue and not give up after this fight, like his post fight comments indicate, he will be jumped on from the start by every game future opponent. That wasn't necessarily bad management by GBP, for Ortiz was winning the fight. The problem had to do with the fighter and his corner. He should have fought behind a jab and circled away from the right hand. If Ortiz would have boxed, kept his cool and mix in his power shots, he would be the WBA champ tonight.
