I cant complain about this forum though the mods are cool they dont play god like most boards and there are a decent amount of good posters inbetween the trolls and fanboys.

The reason Ortiz has been attacked so hard is cuz the fight was still winnable for him. He had dropped dude a couple times, knew his power could bail him out, yet still gave up. And of course he was a hyped prospect, so cats were lookin for sumthin to criticize. His post fight interview didn't help either. I ain't surprised to see him get ripped a new one on here.

Boxing is a sport with major health risks involved and the fighters know this.

That's why it is important for a fighter's handlers to monitor his progress in order to turn up the challenges as safe as possible in the beginning to protect the fighter and their potential future income.

It was unusual to see a fighter like Ortiz come back from a knock down to dish out two of his own, then decide not to continue. After all, he's been in the game long enough to know that it's not an easy way to earn a living
            by a long shot.

So after some thought, my opinion is something or other was bothering him that he may not have admitted or alluded to.

            I could be wrong.

Amazing...all this "sympathy" coming from SOME of the same hypocritcal bastards who call Cotto a quitter after taking far more punishment from a much bigger man for double the rounds...

I actually credited Cotto many times for putting up a heroic effort against Margo. And defended his decision not to continue after the fight.

Ortiz won't die in the ring.. For crying out loud, what the hell is going on with these "emotional" Ortiz fans?
