Ortiz quit - period, and this is why i give all the respect in the world to a MIGUEL COTTO, his cut was way worse, from a head butt, with which he could of had stopped, because he was well ahead on the cards. When nate became undisputed, no one wanted to fight him, yes he lost his belts on the scales, but he still fought, he fought his ass off, and WON - Joan guzman didn't make weight, and didn't want to fight - so please go and pray for Margacheato to come back and regain his glory - please, because you my friend are not a fan, Almost all of the mexican fighters have disserted this dude, so who knows, he might come back and dedicate his come back to you -
I agree with you. Ortiz quit and that's what it is, he didn't want NO MORE
and they used the cut as an excuse. I also agree that Cotto cut was way
worse and props to him for fighting on with Clottey. Ortiz did the same
as Zab in the Clottey fight, he gave it his best but it just wasn't good
enough. Ortiz believed the hype and abandoned his trainer teachings
and what they learned in the gym. When I saw the that Ortiz's opponent
record I was like woah! I smell an upset.

I agree! Mad respect to Medaina because he came to fight
and weathered the storm and put it on Ortiz. If that fight
would have went on Ortiz would have gotten destroyed.

Not taking anything away from Maidana, but Ortiz showed zero boxing skills. He wasn't setting anything up, just going for the KO. And defensively, Ortiz just needed to keep his hands up.

              Ortiz Upset

I think this is going to serve as a valuable lesson for Victor Ortiz. He's only a 22 year old guy fighting someone who is years older. When I was sixteen I fought a 21 year old man...during the fight I noticed how much more solid he was than I. I hit him and hit him and he wouldn't go down. I think this is what happened to Ortiz, he got caught by someone who was more solid and more physically mature than he. Give Ortiz a couple of years and if he keeps a good head on his shoulders, remains humble and dedicated to his craft, he'll be a champion.

I don't understand why Victor went in swinging for the homerun when he was being repeatedly beaned. I'm sure he felt dudes power, and to me it looked like Maidana had one punch KO power, yet he kept rushing in. If he would've just boxed it out he would've likely taken it IMO. Got over anxious, excited, trying to keep his win:KO ratio up, whatever, he should've stayed disciplined.

ortiz was hurting maidana too, plus he let all the hype about him being the future get to him.

I don't think he called the upset.

But he just pointed out the painfully obvious. Ortiz was not what they were making him out to be whether we learned that now or a year down the line.
