It was a great fight, Kotelnik clearly won and deserved the decision, he was blocking most of Maidana's punches and was landing counter punches at will, Kotelnik used his superior technical skills to outbox Maidana.

It was a gift hometown decision, Maidana threw 1200+ and was still the stronger fighter at the end of the fight. Kotelnik barely threw any punches, let alone land.

i dont think kotelniks stock went up tonight, rather this ridiculous notion that khan was going to ko kotelnik is out of the window now. Kotelnik has a solid chin and if maidana couldnt knock him out khan probably wont but i do think khan can win by throwing a large volume of punches. This was how maidana was able to have success against kotelnik.

It was a close fight, Maidana came out hard similar to this fight, difference is Kotelnik has a tight, high guard. blocks alot of punches and has a very solid chin. After the first few rounds Kotelnik came back, got comfortable wil Maidana's awkwardness and would fire back with his own combinations. It was not a "German robbery" like HBO was saying. Close fight though

Kotelnik is definitely underrated by most, he is well rounded, no real weaknesses. It's cuz he has a tight, high guard (think Winky) and doesn't do anything super flashy that people don't give him credit.

I'm excited for the Khan fight. Kotelnik may struggle with Khan's speed and Khan will struggle to land clean shots. If Kotelnik can land a couple clean ones then Khan will take a nap.
