Do you feel That Floyd Wasted His Talent?

If so why do you feel that way. I mean the guy has done what no fighter in the modern era of boxing has done and that is win 5 titles in 5 weight classes undefeated.

is 19-0 in championship fights, has 12 titles defenses over his 5 weight classes, and still came out winning 95% of the rounds during his career.

    please discuss.

He's had a very good career but had the skills and potential to do ALOT more. His career went a little stale after Castillo.

Only time will determine a legacy, so in the mean time the answer to this question is "to be continued" so to speak. Nobody questions his level of skill it's just his lack of willingness to take high-risk fights that puts him in the negative paradigm.

        Peace.

wasted talent IMO cause he ducks real fighters that he COULD knock out! for me, he wont be remembered has a real undftd boxer but more has a fighter who has always been scared of loosing. a lost to his record would make him fight the best so that he can prove that he is the best P4P !

if he fights pacquiao he will gain lots of respect from all the haters

floyd did what he needed to do...won titles, made money...held that 0

with that said, a solid case for a strong ATG argument was there for him

take the $8mil and beat Margs, take on Cotto, take on Shane...those were risky paydays that he, IMO, would have won and ceased ANY questions about his greatness

but as it was, he didnt...he did well, but he could have done more...he had the talent to do it

There's a bit of yes and no to this answer. No in the sense of what Brandish said to start the thread, but yes in the sense that with his talent he had the opportunity to be one of the greatest fighters ever. He sold himself short for money and an undefeated record which is fine, but his legacy isn't going to be as big as it could have been.

Wasted talent? No. Floyd might not have fought everyone he should have, but he is a Hall of Famer, a top 100 ATG, and has made tons of money.

One of my favorite fighters James Toney did waste his talent. He could have made a lot more money and been a lot higher in rankings with the necessary discipline.

what more could he have done I want to hear what you guys think he could have done in terms of accomplsihments.

for example more title defenses, more championship fights, more titles won in more weight classes.

floyd has already set a standard that will never be met just curious as to how good do you guys really think he is.
