Miguel Cotto = Meldrick Taylor

Antonio Margarito may have sparked "Meldrick Taylor" syndrome in Miguel Cotto.

Margarito put the beatdown on him, plain and simple. It was a Chavez vs Taylor type beatdown. The effects of the beatdown were evident in his struggle with Josh Clottey. Clottey is not a hard puncher, yet he had Miguel running and trying to survive the final rounds. Cotto fought valiently, but he took a lot of shots and was at times, clearly shaken up by Clottey.

Cotto is no longer the same fighter, not since the Margarito beatdown. I think Freddie Roach sees this, and it's going to show in the Manny Pacquiao fight. Another smart move by Roach, they seen weaknesses in DLH and Hatton and I'm sure they see the effects of the beating Tony gave Cotto.

how is cotto not the same fighter u goin by what happen against clottey after a headbutt turn the fight around to me you just sound like a cotto hater cus u dont give him his due, most fighters would of collected the check the guy is a beast

Sure does, just like after RESTO, makes you think why most PRs are BIG punchers...don't talk out of your ass, Chavez had the same power from round 1-12, he wasn't a late starter like Tony, so don't even go there.

As for Cotto, its obvious Tony took something out of him, but you guys need to realize, he fought a guy that made Tony look like **** too and the ****er had ONE eye, Cotto did what he had to do and won, I honestly feel it could have gone either way, but had Cotto barely winning by a point and for all the new "Pac Fans" saying Pac is going to destroy Cotto, I think Roach and MAnny are in for a BIG surprise on Nov. 14

i scored rd 1 10-9 for cotto clottey was winning the rd i also had 3 for clottey.close fight either way you look at it.

Neither one did anything in the first round before the KD so 10-8 was the way to go because Cotto landed the big shot.
