The More Successful Wladimir Is, The More Hate He Receives

Technically, Tunney's right. Wladimir won consistently enough to gain a shot at the Ring's HW titile. As such, the fight was billed as the first true HW title fight in 6 years and generated more buzz and coverage than his fights usually achieve. As a result, more people than usual were subjected to the slow, painful torture of watching Dr. Snoozejabber paw away at an inferior fighter for 9 nine rounds, and more people than usual came here to ***** about it. Thus, "the more Wladimir succeeds, the more hate he receives."
No one denies his dominance Tunney. We just want to see him actually FIGHT. It's kinda like how no one really gave Federer the respect he deserved until Nadal came along and truly brought the best out of him. I believe that Wladimir is BETTER than the fighter that we've been seeing recently, and I'm frustrated because I haven't yet seen him put all of his talent on display.Comment

I like the Klit brothers. I like how dominant they are and that they are such gentlemen and easy going. Success brings hate, like someone posted before me how it was with federer until nadal came in. However i think both klit brothers would be amazing at any era. Honestly, maybe they wouldn't be as dominant but they Would Be involved in many great fights.
What I don't get is why the hate for the brothers? is it their fault that there is none in the division at this moment who can step up? The hate should be on the other fighters, not them. Hate on thompson that is the best the us can bring out. Hate on Haye who got lucky to get injured. Wlad IS the HW champion whether some like it or not. And Vitali is right up there alsoComment

He receives more hate the more popular he gets because he looks more like a deer in the headlights each time. His fights are more boring to watch than any John Ruiz fight in recent years. He slaps them for 8 rounds then throws one right hand and it's over. It's boring, predictable, and not exciting to watch at all. I'm not proud to have a heavyweight champ who is afraid of a fight.
Every time Wlad gets in the ring I guarantee there's several new UFC fans. No one wants to watch him jab for a half hour before he decides to knock them out. Fights like that are what is killing boxing. The sad thing is he could easily knock some of these guys out in under 5 rounds but chooses not to take the risk. Isn't that what a champion does? He'd be a hell of a lot more popular if he took some risks once in awhile.Last edited by ddeg10; 06-26-2009, 08:12 PM.Comment
