Clottey's problem which is a Boxer's not a trainers problem was that he let Cotto **** away at times, there were rounds where he let Cotto hit him and just passed it threw his head that he could just stand there and take it but as long as nothing landed he would still win, that's HIS fault because Cotto is weak to certain punches, Cotto is a victim to an uppercut, his style just leaves him open to that and Clottey caught him a few times he just didn't follow threw..

all in all the reason he lost the fight wasn't his trainer it was his actions in the fight, all he had to do was fight the WHOLE 12 rounds to his FULL potential, he LOST by only 1 point and this is even after taking breaks in some rounds, meaning he could have won had he just done a little more. Cotto was lesser of a fighter due to his team, it speaks great volumes of Cotto to win under such rough circumstances, I expect him to be smarter when Pacquiao comes around whom not only do I hope wins but I honestly think will win, Pacquiao is fast but Cotto is strong up there, he will be a whole different fighter on fight night and Manny may not be able to deal with the lateral movement Cotto presents, the smarts he brings into the ring.

..getting to the point though if Clottey asked me if he should change his trainer I would say only if you're going to retire from Boxing and take up another sport, the trainers you had didn't fail you, they took you to the water and prepared you to be able to make yourself the seafood meal of a lifetime and you still managed to **** that up. this wasn't a buddy McGirt case where they didn't let the fighter fight, he fought and fought well just not well enough. you can't take OFF rounds against the champion just ask Winky Wright.

    Great post as usual.

I agree about Cotto being susceptible to the uppercut, i think he squares himself up sometimes and leans in and puts his head over his lead foot which leaves him open to it, i also think his wide stance does not help either at times.

I disagree about Pac though, i think Cotto will be the man commanding the centre of the ring because he is the bigger man, i think Miguel is gonna have an extremely hard time avoiding Pac's straight left hand.

      Just letting you guys know....
H-Town..Tell him to ditch that piece of **** promoter he has...I think he should hook up with ****m Richardson...That would be a nice combo...Despite his close fight with Cotto (which should have at least been a draw) I'm still going to ride the Clottey train...Hopes he gets back into the picture soon!
