I admire your manly way of dealing with that fanboy.
I had it a draw. With Cotto winning by one point because of the KD.
Regardless of the winner it was an extremely even fight. He's the one who needs to get his eyes checked!Comment

Cotto/Clottey was a close fight, if he feels like his trainers holding him back than maybe he should change trainers. Personally, I think Clottey should take some responsibility and not just blame it all on the trainers. But thats why, I'm not the one getting prepared for the fight. So only Clottey truly knows if his trainer didn't push him hard enoughLast edited by ACHlLLES; 06-26-2009, 08:34 AM.Comment

Clottey need to quit being so friendly.
Last I herd, it was over money issue, not about his skills. Clottey supose had hired a extra guy for the Cotto fight and there was pay issue with his head trainer. Far as the fight goes, Clottey looked good. After the knock down, didn't realy have anything on it and Clottey wasn't hurt. He needs to finish fights and put more offense together. (Ge with one of the Mayweather.)---------->He realy wan't have any money after the Mayweather get done with him. LolComment

he needs to trade in his 1 speed transmission for a 6 speed with a short throw shifter.

a lil snappy are we?? its a debate forum take it all day.
Cotto won the fight with one eye, clottey wouldnt have looked so impressive if Cotto didnt have that cut. Even still Cottos power made Clottey reluctant to throw punches in the later rounds for fear of getting hit.
To give it to clottey wouldve been a robbery. Cotto defended his belt Clottey has to taek it. he had all the chances in the world but couldnt do it because Cotto is a superior fighterComment

That's VERY surprising to hear, I'm from NY and my friend spars with Clottey all the time and I have yet to hear that. not saying that you lying or making **** up but I just had no idea that was passing threw his head, he is a crazy man if he does that. he had Cotto served up for lunch, and EVERYONE who knows anything about my post history knows Cotto is my favorite besides Tito but in the Clottey fight something wasn't right with Cotto. Clottey's problem which is a Boxer's not a trainers problem was that he let Cotto **** away at times, there were rounds where he let Cotto hit him and just passed it threw his head that he could just stand there and take it but as long as nothing landed he would still win, that's HIS fault because Cotto is weak to certain punches, Cotto is a victim to an uppercut, his style just leaves him open to that and Clottey caught him a few times he just didn't follow threw..
all in all the reason he lost the fight wasn't his trainer it was his actions in the fight, all he had to do was fight the WHOLE 12 rounds to his FULL potential, he LOST by only 1 point and this is even after taking breaks in some rounds, meaning he could have won had he just done a little more. Cotto was lesser of a fighter due to his team, it speaks great volumes of Cotto to win under such rough circumstances, I expect him to be smarter when Pacquiao comes around whom not only do I hope wins but I honestly think will win, Pacquiao is fast but Cotto is strong up there, he will be a whole different fighter on fight night and Manny may not be able to deal with the lateral movement Cotto presents, the smarts he brings into the ring.
..getting to the point though if Clottey asked me if he should change his trainer I would say only if you're going to retire from Boxing and take up another sport, the trainers you had didn't fail you, they took you to the water and prepared you to be able to make yourself the seafood meal of a lifetime and you still managed to **** that up. this wasn't a buddy McGirt case where they didn't let the fighter fight, he fought and fought well just not well enough. you can't take OFF rounds against the champion just ask Winky Wright.Comment
