I agree with the TS, Hopkins was so scared that he even asked for a rematch and was chasing a Calzaghe fight for April of this year, even attended ringside at MSG for Jones vs Calzaghe to hopefully get the winner. That's how scared Bernard Hopkins was of Joe Calzaghe.

No he didn't, he actually said Bernard "fought scared", which is a perfectly valid point.

Maybe it is you who should read before you post?

I think Bernard was punked off way before even at the weigh-in it's just that Bhop got lucky with the kd and he was still scared to go for the kill.

IN ALL OF HIS FIGHTS BHOP HAS NEVER FOUGHT MORE SCARED AND LOOK FOR A WAY OUT AS HE DID AGAINST ZAGHE and he's getting a pass for it cause he was past his "prime".

Bhop was a better fighter when he destroyed Tarver, Pavlik and when he beat Winky. Afterall he fought P4P fighters who are legitimately big guys and not just a p4p fighter moving from 147 who ends up being a fatty with some fat *******.
          Why do you care mexican??

            Which round was this?

Oh wait, I remember now, most of them, if not all.

And people are trying to tell us he wasn't fighting like he was scared.

He can say whatever he wants after the fight, but the fact is he bit off more than he could chew. He realised this when Joe got back up and proceeded to unload on his face. That's when the spoiling started, right when he knew he was up **** creek with no paddle. If that isn't fighting scared, I don't know what is.

              FACTS:

              Hopkins chased the rematch.

Mosley did just as much 'holding' of Margarito, and that seemed to be fine. It's so strange that the fans who seem to hate Hopkins and love Calzaghe, talk about the holding then say it's just a part of Ricky Hattons style though, so it's different.

Why would Joe give him a rematch, did Bernard actually deserve one? Do we as fans deserve to see another shameful performance by Bernard? Thank god Joe didn't accept it and spared him. It's just like Bhop lost the staredown with Eastman and then jumped up again to the podium only to walk away again and lose the staredown a second time.

None of that has to do with whether or not Hopkins was scared. I have moved passed Calzaghe/Hopkins because I admire both fighters. What I'm saying is, you can't call that the act of a scared man. Scared peope don't professionally call someone out. In the media, they might. To pose a front. However, he did this thru businessmen. Scared man wouldn't do that.

Fair enough, but you can't deny that the same people who rag on Hopkins, that are Calzaghe fans, also usually root for Hatton. That was my point. Nonetheless, none of this EITHER, has anything to do with being afraid. You want to call it cheating? Fine. I don't care. Sometimes it works for him and he has no DQ losses, so I can't try to correct him. But, this doesn't make him scared. At all.
