4 fights at Lightweight including 2 wins over the # 1 Lightweight prime Jose Luis Castillo, Decision over Vic Sosa(who Cotto was hyped for beating at 140), Phillip N'dou who had 30 KO's in 32 Bouts with only 1 loss,

3 bouts at Jr Welterweight including a fresher version of Corley who only had 2 losses, Bruseles who was training with Cotto for the fight and Cotto went on record saying they're confident blah blah blah TKO 8 i think with a body shot(called out Tszyu, Mosley, and De La Hoya [DLH wasn't interested, Mosley had a toothache, Tszyu then lost to Hatton]), beat Arturo Gatti for the WBC JWW title to become champ in 3 diff weight classes

5 fights at Welterweight, Mitchell(okay no threat), Zab Judah(top 5 WW atm just lost his Ring/Lineal title to Baldomir), Baldomir Ring/Lineal WW champ coming in with a 8 year win streak and was supposed to be too big for Floyd and was labeled a "WW threat" by many of the same ******s who are discrediting that win now including the biggest ****** of them all, Brian Kenny. Ricky Hatton was in his prime and undefeated and to a lot of boxing fans, Mayweather "had no chance" and people kept bringing up how it "took Floyd 24 rounds to beat Castillo" and "only 4 rounds for Hatton" and "Castillo has never been TKO'ed by a body shot" blah blah blah TKO 10...

1 bout at Jr Middleweight vs Oscar De La Hoya with Oscar picking everything but Floyd's trunks, and of course 154 being Oscar's best weight atm.

I'm not even going to diss Cotto...but I want to live to see the day that Cotto 'cherrypicks' his way up to Super Middleweight(which would be his 5th weight class)

Until then, keep comparing Cotto's WW reign to Floyd's WW stint. Be very proud to say that a natural WW took more risks than a former Super featherweight, because that's the least he can do.
We can argue all day about what Floyd's done and what Cotto's done. Bottom line is he still hasn't fought marquee guys in the sport that fans are and have been calling for him to fight. It's really nothing more than that.

I've been a fan of Floyd's since many of you actually started watching Boxing and I am one who's seen Floyd's legitimacy as a #1 fighter diminish fight after fight. Where guys like Leonard excelled when he reached the top by STILL fighting the best guys, Floyd went for the money and trophies thinking that would be enough to gain stardom, but obviously he underestimated how quick casual fans will jump onto the next exciting (or more) figure now being Manny Pacquiao.

Corrales, Castillo, Hatton = great wins for Floyd. But measured up to what's still out there and what has been there for a couple years, its really hard to look at Floyd with your head held high as a fan (coming from me at least).

And as far as Cotto, there is no fighter in Boxing right now who's fought arguably the top 3 fighters in the division almost back to back to back (Mosley, Margarito, Clottey).

Pac and Cotto are really the same size??? really? that is my point. I said "practically" the same size. I would say PBF is a tad bit bigger than Marquez but not by much. Again, they started fighting 4 pounds apart from each other. How far apart did Cotto and Pac start? That is my point. Everyone is hating on PBF for fighting JMM but noone has said **** about Cotto fighting Pac. It is double standards. period.

You may be saying that because you're backing Floyd, but the reality is that Pacquiao has moved up in weight already and has been KO'ing people. Call it weigh drain for Oscar or being shot from Hatton, but he was doubted in both fights and Pacquiao took both dudes out. The fight with Cotto and Pac wouldnt be as intruiging if we hadn't seen what Pac's done in the last year.

Floyd retired as the WW champ and is fighting an older JMM who's never fought above 135lbs, and is selling the fight on the premise that he beats JMM and sets up a huge bout with Pacquiao. But how many people REALLY give Marquez a chance against Floyd compared to Cotto and Pacquiao?

Just imagine Cotto or Mosley retire for a little over a year and come back to fight a Lightweight Gamboa. You don't think there would be an uproar about that?

              Mosley>anything on Floyd resume

The problem is the dude should not be at 147 if he wont fight the top fighters there, that's my issue with him over the last few years. The current top WW faced each other pretty much, Mosley, Margaritto, Cotto, Clottey all of them have faced at LEAST one of the other's. Imo Floyd needs to fight one of them at least by next year.

Of course there would, however you made a bad comparison. Cotto and Mosley coming back to fight a LW? Cotto and Mosley are HUGE compared to PBF.

mosley and oscar have been pretty close as far as all-time rankings.

both are/were near the end of their careers.

mosley became a top fighter at 147 after his loss to cotto but oscar was a top fighter at 154 when floyd beat him (though he hadn't fought much there before the fight , he was still ranked at the top of 154 and had a belt)

Since 2005, PBF's and Cotto's careers had been going on opposite directions. Cotto taking on the better opposition, period.

So now Cotto and Mosley are too big? LOL c'mon man...first he gets a nod for fighting Oscar De la Hoya at a higher weight, now Cotto and Mosley are "Huge" compared to Floyd?

What was Tommy Hearns compared to Sugar Ray Leonard in size? They fought didn't they?
