I got out about 8 years or so ago.
How's my old neighborhood look, still the hellhole I remember?
I do miss certain parts of it though.
The food, mainly.
The boxing fans, they were all over Kensington.
Other **** here and there as well.
This is such a trip, talking to someone who's from my neck of the woods.
I talk to a lot of guys on here form Philly, but none of them came from where I did, and only a few know where it's at.Comment

It was pretty bad when I got out in the mid 90's.
The crack epidemic was sweeping through all of the neighborhoods, and the crime rate was skyrocketing.
I moved down to ******ia with my family.
It's boring as piss down here though, but I guess it beats getting ratpacked on the streets randomly and wondering when you might get stabbed or shot.
Sorry to hear that it's getting worse, man. What schools did you go to?
I went to Lewis Elkin Elementary, and both Stetson and Sullivan Middle Schools. (Got out before I had to goto High School.)
Lastly, I'm going to send you a friend request (if you don't mind), so we can keep in contact about Philly and discuss boxing and ****.

**** man, if it wasn't for my parents deciding to get out ; I would still be there.
It's not like they had a lot of money to do it either.
My dad was recovering from a broken back on the job, and my mom was a stay at home mom.
But eventually the **** just got so bad that we literally just left everything and hit the road with just enough money for the trip.
Ended up homeless for a bit, living in the car. Saved up enough and started renting a place down here. (Cost of living is much cheaper down here, that's one benefit.)
What do they get you for a pack of smokes up in Philly nowadays?
I can only imagine the price you're about to tell me......Comment
