7 Reasons Why Pacquiao Wins the Cotto Fight

I read some of the posts in this forum where people say Cotto won't have any defense for Pac.

Look at slowmotion replays in the Margarito and the Clottey fights. Even though Cotto was gased in Margarito fight, he slipped and block Margarito punches at times. Same with Clottey when Clottey was trying to hit with bodyshots.

Everyone under rates Cotto for some reason now? I'm guessing they feel speed is > all. That somehow overnight Pac is super man - yes he's a great fighter but come on. What's going to happen to Pac when he gets a few stiff jabs to keep him honest? Will he keep coming in ? No, he won't. Cotto's jab will the factor in this fight - he snaps anybodys head back just with it. I don't see Pac being so "superman and aggressive" once he tastes Cotto's power - don't forget Cotto can handle in the fight with the best of them in terms of taking shots and delievering them back. To whoever thinks Pac is just going to jab jab jab and flurry Cotto all night with Cotto not answering back is in for a rude awakening, everytime Pac misses and leaves his face or body open - I promise Cotto will counter back. cheers mates.

there's a reason why middleweights don't fight welterweights.
Cotto is a good fighter, but Manny is a great fighter.

        Manny Pacquiao is ambidextrious.

        Pacquiao will move around him.

That's the fine line that separates the two fighters

Manny is too fast, you must have gameplan, and practice it over and over.

I think Cotto will punch with Manny. His jab is key.
Manny hasnt been under real, prolonged pressure in years.

The later stages of this fight are where it will be won or lost. Cotto being tired of chasing and missing, and Pac being tired of having to fight on the back foot most of the fight.

Manny Steward said Pac cant fight going backwards. I think Cotto will have him going backwards.

I love watching those fights back to back and observing how much more clever Pac had become in 4 years. In the first, he was wild and ran into everything with which Marquez countered him; in the second, he'd learnt how to counter the counters and make Marquez look old. Classy stuff.

Pac-Marquez III for 2010. Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaase, Top Rank and GBP?

                    • Great Post! Cotto has to use his one advantage and that is punching power. He has to force the issue because standing in the middle of the ring and trying to box Pac-Man is suicide. He is just to fast and quick. Push the issue, trap him against the ropes and punch away. Make Pac prove he can fight going backwards because I haven't seen enough evidence that he is truely effective fighting backwards. Fighting backwards against an overrated Ricky Hatton doesn't prove ****.
