Deontay Wilder, a Look at America's Next Heavyweight

These are not times for patient people. The speed supplied to life by technology and easy access to information means makes thinking too far ahead a headache for some. Whim is so easily accommodated that projection, imagination, can get lost in the shuffle. [details]

Much too early to tell. One thing for sure is that he is blessed with physical tools that might exceed even the Klitshko's.

His success is going to depend on whether or not he has good stamina and whether or not he can take a big punch. His power and speed will lead him to victory over many technically superior fighters.

                Good article.

But Cliff, you are better than to go around writing "by the grace of God" in a boxing article. Find a better, neutral expression.

Rahman said it best following his loss to wlad.the problem with American heavyweights is that they make too much $$$ to quickly.the American fans & promoters make them out to be great well before they actually are great.why train if you are a 27 year old millionaire but the problem with that is alot of these boxers come from poverty or lower class lives, they are ex cons, gangsters, drug dealers, etc. Now all of a sudden you tell them over & over how great they are & give a guy with a checkered background a million dollars & see what he does with it.too much success, too early.it's a recipe for disaster.bankruptcy usually follows because they don't have skills in life outside the ring.on the other hand Europeans make their $$$ & get out with their heads intact.true boxing fans mite not like it but I actually admire them believe it or not.ibragimov, liahkovich, mirovic & soon too be chagaev.that's why you don't see them in their late 30s besides vitali but he likes to box still.most Americans box at that age cause their broke.except toney & a handful of others. my point is the guys 5-0 & we can't put too much pressure on him.too many people in the states want to rush these guys to the top before they are ready.yes he won bronze but let's remember the Olympic judging is based on a judges video game skills.press a button on a controller to score.while the computer adds the total it may miss a combination thrown by the other guy.nowadays a gold medal means you'll make $$$ early & will be promoted but it doesn't mean it will translate to success in the pros...ask audley Harrison & tyrel biggs.
