Using your skills and technique when you are the naturally smaller/weaker fighter to knock out opponents = GREAT BOXER

JMM's recent campaign has been against fighters larger than him and he used his boxing skills to KNOCK THEM OUT. Not his size, strength or power, but he used strategy and boxing ability to set up the knock out.

Cotto has used his boxing skills NOT TO LOSE THE FIGHT. He did that against Mosley, he TRIED to do that against Margo and he did that against Clottey. I'm not saying he lost to Mosley and Clottey, but I feel he did JUST enough to ensure a victory.

I'm not even sure I'd say Cotto is a better body puncher than Marquez.

I know that's Cotto's reputation ; a fierce body puncher. But I honestly haven't seen much of that ferocious bodywork since he moved up from 140.

It's 50/50. Sometimes he invests in it heavily (See : Gomez, Judah), and other times he completely abandons it (See : Margarito).

Whereas Marquez always makes a solid investment downstairs in every single fight he has, mixing it up to the head and the body in combination.

Cotto has the better rep as a body puncher, but I think lately Marquez is putting in the better work.

JMM is the better Boxer IMO, I find JMM a very good fighter who is under appreciated by some Boxing fans and when he retires... he will be one of those who will be missed... one of those ones which people thought... he never really got the full credit and recognition he truly deserved.

              Voted for Cotto on accident.

JMM is ahead of Cotto in every aspect, except footwork. True story.

Marquez is the better boxer and overall probably a better fighter.

No but he is a good boxer and he has the size advantage that can make up for some of his technical flaws.
