Cotto's jab won't mean much against Pacquiao. Manny will barely be in range to get hit by a jab, Cotto will have to knock down Manny's right hand and use a counter jab.

Juan Manuel Marquez is a way better boxer than Miguel Cotto

In terms of raw physical talent i dont think theres a massive gap between them. they both have world class handspeed, great footwork, their both animals in terms of workrate and aggression, JMM has the better defense and maybe the knockout punch that cotto lacks
Agree with most of what you said except... Cotto adapts as the fight goes on - in just about every fight...ie, MOSELY...the Margarito fight was the lone exception and even then it wasn't a blow out; Cotto was giving as much as he got until his stamina shut down.

Hell no. And that's why in my view Juan Manuel Marquez would beat Cotto in a head-to-head match up. I've expressed my opinion about that a lot of times on these boards. Marquez would dissect Cotto with those uppercuts he throws. Cotto is tailor made for Marquez's best weapon and that is the uppercut. Cotto may not get stopped early, but he would be broken down by accumulation. I even think JMM is a tougher match up for Cotto than Pacquiao based on that fact. Cotto is also a lot less defensively skilled than Juan Manuel Marquez on top of not having as good of stamina. Marquez set a crazy pace in the Diaz fight for punches thrown and Diaz is even more aggressive than Clottey. Neither Diaz or Clottey are hard punchers for their respective weight.

NO.... But he hits a **** load harder.....

JMM is one of the most technically skilled boxers of this decade.

Cotto is a great fighter but he isn't quite up to that level.

I think Manny will catch Cotto over the jab with a right hook. I can see him landing that shot early on.

I agree with all the people who say jmm is far more skilled than cotto. Watching him fight is like watching evolution take place in a matter of minutes.
