if margarito and clottey were able to land cleanly and effectively, i see marquez doin the same and laying counter traps all day

the jab is the key to this fight...maybe we get a clottey replay of a knockdown with a jab

those guys are bigger.they didn't beat cotto on ability.if cotto would have decided to counter punch clottey he would have beaten him easier.also they are much bigger than marquez.

does ring smarts apply? because marquez is well above cotto in that department. have you all seen some of the stuff marquez does in that ring? add his physical feautures, if you knock him down, hes getting right back up to throw punches and not just cover up, if you wobble him, he starts throwing them right back with good accuracy. i think marquez is the better over all boxer. his defense is very underrated as well, yea he gets touched up but he has great movement, stepping backwards then countering, moving his upper body while still having his chin tucked in his shoulder.

Cotto is not a better boxer than Marquez. Having a powerful jab doesn not equal boxing skills, either.

IMO, JMM is the best pure boxer in the game today. I don't see anyone with his skill level and intelligence in the ring.

That's not a knock on Cotto, I don't think Pac can box with JMM. JMM is just not the athlete that Pac is and that's why it's such a great fight between the two. It's JMM's boxing vs Pac ferocity and speed.

Cotto is a good boxer, not a great one. His defense is nowhere on the level that JMM's is.
