i think it is ok coz pac will be criticized by pachaters if he fights someone his own size or someone who is just a little bit bigger than pac... it should be toooooo big for pac to have a fair fight!!! lol

            http://www.primerahora.com/diario/no..._libras/309992

For those who don't know spanish here are several quotes from Roach on this news report.:

"Arum called me and I told him that didn't have any problems with the fight being at 145 lbs. In reality i don't care if Cotto wants to weight more than 200 lbs"

"I trust my fighter so i could care less abouth the weight issue"

"I haven't talked to Manny, who will make the final decision, he is a grown up and can make his own decisions, all I can do is give him my recomendations"

"Obviously we want Manny to receive a better payday than the fight with Hatton, there's no reason to go backwards on the money issue, therefore those details will have to be discussed"

So apparently we will have Cotto-Pacman after all. I have been against this catch weight issue since they started but at this point and hearing that Cotto will accept a fight at 144 I guess there will be no excuse now that it might be at 145.
Do you know if the source of this article is reliable?

I don't have a problem with 145...even Cotto's nutritionist said Cotto could make that easy.

If the fight is signed at 145 all the catchweight bull**** should stop...I mean at whatever weight it's signed it should stop...I'ts Cotto's decision and he knows his body better then all of us.

Cotto came in for Clottey at 146 and a couple ounces....He's got a good chance of making 145 healthy as a horse.

well no matter if anyone of you likes or hate cotto this is a fight that NO ONE can predict 100% sure im puertorrican im a cotto fan and im with him but thi is a fight that can go both ways and this is what makes this fight exiting for those who says that pacman will ko cotto let me say (you dont know if cotto can hadle his power neither do i) but we cannot know if pacman can absorb a hard cotto punch so we will know the day of the fight 145 seems reasonable but freddie its killing me saying that 145 is good and he dosent care if cotto comes to fight at 200 lb how ****** well have a nice day everyone

Carlos Gonzalez is the reporter of the article and he's a respected reporter in Puerto Rico. I would say yes, he is reliable but you never know. Sometimes people say (in this case Roach) things in front of a reporter but go back and do the opposite. We will see. He could go back and recomend Pacman not to fight at that weight, let just hope it is true.

I do agree with you that Cotto probably wouldn't have any problem to make the 145 and still be healthy and strong. There were sources saying that fo Clottey's fight Cotto was already playing with the weight 2 weeks before the fight because thet training camp in Tampa went so well and actually was using an "organic diet" that helped him a lot. But from there to go down to 143 was almost impossible.

                    Team Pacquiao

Team Pacquiao was ok with Roach making decisions on who to fight previously, now that Pacquiao is a draw they want to cut off his input. Dumb move, greed will end up biting them in the ass.
