I don't want him to retire. But if his heart isn't in fighting anymore maybe he should. He does a lot of things to help out the poor people who live in the PI. He visited those bomb victims over the weekend, and that was a good gesture. Having said that, a guy's thirst for combat can decrease inside the ring sometimes if they are too much of an icon to their country. I think Pacquiao has got more heart than Acelino Freitas, but he's a guy that comes to mind.

I really would like to see Floyd-Pac but if floyd had a rib injury it's not smart to go fight the pacman right after that, he might get hurt again. He better stay on track and spar with JMM and if pacquiao does beat cotto, which is unlikely, they can fight in 2010

I think it would be a huge mistake for pacman to call it quits now.

He's in great shape and in his prime still (if you ask me).

I dont think its even near the time to contemplate quitting the sport.

He's got good years left in him...along with more great fights that can be made. he can still fight cotto, mayweather, mosley, etc.

The "political ring" can wait if you ask me.

My logic is why retire from a sport where being in good shape, being young, and being in your prime are key requirements to be great and you've still "got it" if you know what i mean?

especially when what you're retiring for is a career that doesnt require anything from you physically?

if i was pacman i'd fight the best while im still a top fighter and in great shape THEN retire and take on politics.

unless his legacy is no longer a matter of importance to him then i can understand because he has made his money (most definately) and hes in good health (no damages from the sport) so if he's no longer motivated i could see retiring but if he's still got the fire we all know he's still got his prime.

            i say fight on pacman.

Seriously, 2 election campaigns and that's gone.

coz floyd ducking is very believable and pac ducking is unrealistic.....

What a shame if the Pacman retires when he is just truly in his prime!!!! Going out by KO against Cotto is not a bad way to go though!!!! For the love of Boxing dont vote for him Pinoys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                    Sounds familiar doesn't it?

STFU pacq. We see right through this nonsense. Why do u need to try to inflate your value? Unless he really is facing cotto next and needs to hype the fight even more.

I doubt Pacquiao could win the 2010 election.

He would be fighting next cause he would be cash drained after the campaign.
