Fair cop, the problem with that though is the fact that boxing fans want to see the heavyweight champ and its a bit crap that this is what we get.

True,but even if Lennox Lewis was unified champ right now would the division be good?
Even if the champ was a fantastic boxer it would just be watching him beat Chagaev,Valuev,Chambers etc etc, still a crap division.
We need about 20 good fighters to flood the division to make it great again.

Whether Wlad KO's these guys in rd1 or on points he will still be boring to most because his opposition is nowhere near his standard.

I totally agree. Wlad is not avoiding boxers he deems dangerous - he has just a tight schedule with three belts to defend. Povetkin is next, I guess.

He is a polite, nice gentelman out of the ring. His style is tried and true, so - never change a winning team. He'll not open up for a quick KO if it gives the opponent the chance to floor Wlad. He even admits that his chin is weak, so it's no shame to not exposing it. Why force a KO now, if it gives a small chance for losing instead of winning next round or by points?

Sadly, this results in boring fights. Jab, jab, jabberwockee, win.

Yes, he did. He had many problems with all kinds of fighters. That's why his KOratio is sooo weak. He also had gift decisions, which is the last thing you can claim about Klitschko.

Ali would be booed nowadays. There no chance in the world that the running away ("floating" = keeping yourself completely out of the range of the opponent) and featherfistedness and dirty clinching would be tolerated by fans nowadays.


With so little KOs like Ali he obviously didn't have a lot people ready.

Ali would not be booed. Ali would be known as the person who saved boxing again. Imagine Ali fitting into a 24/7 documentary? He would probably be able to get his face onto the backpage of the paper atleast twice a year. Klitschko won't see a newspaper unless he's convicted of murder or something.

wlad is KOing these guys, but its not in exciting or fast enough for the critics....

years ago wlad did have a more exciting style, he was more offensive and aggresive, but it lead to some losses and wut else??? critics... so hes' gonna criticized either way, might else do it and win EASILY, which he does....

Should Klitschko fight in a more exciting/dangerous style? Unofficial Poll. It seems Boxingscene is split currently between two schools of thought. Half NSB appreciates that Wladimir is dominating and has found a style that doesn't expose his only weakness(chin.) The other half of NSB acknowledges he is fighting to win but thinks he needs to change his style to be more fan friendly. If not for his own fan base but for the good of all boxing. Where do you stand? Poll to follow.

He used to fight in an exciting style and got 3 losses, since he is much more defensive he has been more successful.
