Povetkin isn't a huge puncher, doesn't have good defense, and gets hit too much. He's getting knocked out probably before the 8th round.

BS. Chagaev is pretty damn good, but not good enough. He was where he was supposed to be, #3 in the world, and now he can drop out of the top 10.

Povetkin is a good technical fighter, who doesn't move his head enough and isn't a big enough puncher to beat Wlad. It'll go somewhat like the Chagaev fight, only end quicker. Haye is the only guy to pose a threat to Wlad, just because he will come in swinging with huge punches. Haye will probably lose, but it's about the only entertaining fight for Wlad that's out there. That and maybe Arreola.

Wlad just has the division on lockdown. If he keeps his focus, he may not lose again before he retires, honestly.

It's funny that people say chagaev is better than povetkin.povetkin beat ahunanya, donald,Byrd, chambers by the time he was 13-0.that's very impressive & estrada is a nice tuneup win.he is more qualified than any other contender.he also won a gold medal.his resume is proven.he was brought along the right way.stiff competition from the start.with his amateur pedigree there was no reason to give him tomato can opposition.he may not win but he's more than ready to challenge.

I bet he retires.too many injuries & illness.he's had a couple of nice paydays & should be financially ok if he wasn't an idiot with his $.povetkin/haye/arreola in that order.povetkin would take out chagaev I think with little trouble & ditto for arreola & haye.just because he has a good amateur pedigree doesn't mean he'll have the same success in the pros.I just think chagaev was an opponent & I'm not even sure he has enough left too even beat valuev.
Chagaev was a very good amateur fighter, untouchable, dude has beaten Savon twice.Problem is he always was a lil bit too much flat footed, and it was worse after all these injuries...

Povetkin unlike Chagaev is quick handed and very agressive,he needs to be more professional in his game.He needs 5 more fights, against top 10 legit.
Eddy Chambers and Estrada are just some blown up cruiserweights and overated fighters.
Props for the Peter win,but Peter was done.

              Chagaev was too small,and too slow.But he's a good fighter,no doubt.

                Exactly.

Haye already came close to waste several months of Wlad's career at his prime so it's not a good idea to keep giving chances to this guy. Let him get serious, earn his chance, then the fight will naturally happen.

Wlad should give Povetkin his shot now, it's a pretty good fight, a top 5 HW opponent, the timing is perfect for it as it will free Wlad from IBF's mandatory obligations for quite a while, specially considering after july 4th he will have another mandatory to worry about, now from the WBO.

Add to that the fact that the WBA might grant him a shot at Valuev, later this year, for having beaten Chagaev, after Valuev fights Ruiz.

Wlad also already stated he would really like to fight Arreola in the US.

Very likely scenario. Wlad just keeps destroying this undefeated fighters!

Chagaev beat nobody other than ruiz & valuev.too many significant injuries & illness.it tough rehabbing his injuries he had & not active enough.he got a gift rapped win vs drumond(he averaged 5 landed punches/round.he lost that fight.if anyone needs 5 more fights vs good opposition it's chagaev not povetkin.chambers isn't great but the Byrd win was good.wladimir & ibeabuchi were the only 2 ever to knockout Byrd at that point & povetkin did that.he won 2 eliminators & didn't have to fight estrada(risking his #1ranking)but he did anyway.povetkin is ready now not 5 fights from now.chagaev wouldn't have beaten valuev this time around.he's got to show me more if I'mgoing to take him seriously again...I'm sure he's going to retire like ibragimov, liahkovich win a couple big fights, get a couple million then sail into the sunset.chagaev I'm sure is done

I like this no bull**** attitude from Povetkin.

This should be a good fight, and another really good win for Wladimir Klitschko.
