YOU GUYS she is not completely wrong. Now seriously, I'm not being sarcastic.

Ali was almost all the time the taller man when fighting/ Klitscko is always the taller man when fighting

Ali used his jab to dominate opponents/ Klitscko uses his jab to dominate opponents

Ali never went for the body/Klitschko never goes for the body

      Ali was pretty/Klitscko is pretty

The only difference is that Ali never held his guard up. He left his chin up in the air but still almost never got caught because of his incredible reflexes. He was ofcourse the faster man. And his footwork was legendary.

So she was not completely wrong, you see.

Thankyou and exactly. Obviously they're not identical but whereas Tyson resembles some old fighters like Frazier I think Wlad resembles Ali in some ways.

LOL I dont see what the uproar is all about. Apparently mentioning Ali in the same sentence is enough to get the haters in a frenzy. Reading comprehension is lost on boxingscene. For all the people who are appalled by the question, come up with 10 fighters that fight more similarly to Ali than Wlad. Shouldn't be very hard if he's that far away in styles.

I have much respect for Wlad. But comparing him to Ali is wrong. Ali danced, had the some of the fastest combo's for a HW fighter, talked trask etc etc.. I don't see the similarity.

Okay, so they are/were both outfighters. What's your point? They're in the same aisle of the store, but one is on top shelf and the other is in the bargain bin. The footspeed comparison is especially ridiculous. Check the video juxtaposition a few posts back and tell me where you see the Wladimir shuffle.

It's like saying that Carlos Valderrama was the closest thing to Zinedine Zidane because they were both attacking, playmaking center midfielders. Yeah they played the same position with the same style, but Zidane was so much better at every facet of the style that it renders the comparison useless.

I can't believe this thread has been alive for this long.

In some very remote ways. But the title is of your thread is that he's the closest thing to him. Which is kinda misleading. Is there some similarities if you squint enough and have a few beers? Maybe.

Are they really anything alike? Not at all.

Tyson and Frazier is a far more apt comparison.
