    This too is true

I would say Pac as he has went up in weight and still been dominant over great fighters! He has an exciting, crowd pleasing style! I would put Wlad second as he has been dominant in the heavyweight division for a few years now! Wlad has a shout for first but I think Manny edges him.

        Pavlik.

He is the better champion because he beat Taylor, who beat Hopkins, who had cleared out the division and won all the belts. It is indisputable that he is the champion as he beat the lineal holder of all 4 belts and the Ring trinket.

JMM beat Casamayor, who had been given a gift not long before, then beat Diaz, who had lost to Campbell not long before.

Wlad has dominated his opposition, but did not beat 'the man' or the man that beat the man.

Adamek, no, he has the least claim of all of them IMO.

Pacquiao has a strong claim, but the fact that Tszyu-Mayweather never happened, and the fact that neither Hatton or Pac fought Bradley means that there are/have been legit questions about who the best in the division is/was.

Calderon, I have to confess I don't know much about.

So my answer is Pavlik because of the clear line of succession from Hopkins, who was incredibly dominant and unquestionably the true (and only) champ at 160.

Fairly shocking that Pacquiao is dominating the poll considering he is merely 1-0 in the division he is The Ring champion for.

I voted Marquez because beating Casamayor and Juan Diaz is pretty much as dominant as anything could be, unless he fought "can't make weight" Campbell, who has since exited the division.

I wanted to vote for Wladimir Klitschko, but... his limelight stealing brother is holding me back from doing so. If he can't ever fight the obvious choice for best fighter in the division other than himself, it's really hard to say that he has cleaned out the division.

I went with Marquez. Absolutely no one can make an argument that he isn't the best lightweight, and he left no unfinished business.

            Wlad/Calderon second

I'm slightly surprised NO ONE has voted for Cunningham, considering the exciting way h won and has defended the title. Nonetheless, still intrigued by the low number for the guy with the most defences, and longest reign.

Who has had it the longest?

By the way, Adamek is super good, and his two fights for The Ring belt have been pretty solid... against Cunningham and Banks. Still though, it's hard to vote for Cunningham and Banks over the likes of Casamayor and Diaz IMO.

Tue. However, he's still an exciting fighter. He's also young and is chasing fights in his division. For a champion, that does add to your appeal.

Ivan Calderon has had the title the longest. A couple of months longer then Kelly Pavlik in and more defences then anyone else on the list. Not to mention he went from one title directly to another at 108. Pretty impressive stuff.

You are right... a month and four days.

It's nuts that every lineal champion got their belt after I started watching boxing... it seems like someone on that list should have had their belt longer.

Anyway, Adamek is on the brink of becoming top dog if he can land a couple more huge fights since Marquez is going to vacate his title soon.
